So this girl I've been talking to for a couple of weeks just "dumped" me. I asked if she wanted to hangout after she finished her shift at work. The first few words of the text she sent said "I'd rather not" and when I saw this I was thinking, she's probably busy or had something else planned. But when I opened it, my heart literally sank and I didn't know how to feel. Her message described comments I've made about her which were true (not trying to go into too much depth, but you can private message me for the full details if you'd like). She then concluded that "I've had enough of my judgmental negativity, bye."
I looked at her message for a solid 10 minutes, reflecting on the moments in which I did say such things, but my reasons as to why were because I liked her for the said comments I made. I didn't really think to heavily on the effect my words had to her because of our type of relationship. I did respond to the message starting with Sorry, I was thinking of just saying Sorry and trying to move on but I had to say why I was sorry.
A few days prior to this, we'd rarely exchange messages or any form of social media like snapchat. We'd snapchat back and forth throughout the days. And then she returned my hoodie I let her wear when it was cold out this one night. She said she felt weird holding on to it. When she returned it, I was thinking "we're still good". But then I also thought maybe she returned it because she wasn't interested in me anymore.
The comments she mentioned were " not wearing enough makeup, not having her hair done, and wearing yoga pants " I admit that i'll make these comments from time to time, in a friendly-joking like tone, I never knew that she felt differently about them. We'd always poke fun at one another when we hung out.
My question for y'all is that if the comments I made were taken the wrong way from her end, shouldn't she have just told me that in person or something? And then I would've stopped saying them? And then we could like move on. Unless she just used that to cover up that she just wasn't into me anymore? Thanks for any input
tl;dr:
It's hard to read things when it comes to relationships. I guess its better not to read things at all.

That old catchy saying that there are many fish in the sea . Don't worry about her dude, you will find another girl. What has been said to you by that girl has happened to me before also.

I may not be the most experienced in relationships but I personally think she should have come to you in person to talk about what was bothering her. Granted you guys have only been talking for a short time, but still, if she wanted that relationship to work she would have come to you. Everything happens for a reason brotha, don't need someone like her that would break things off with a text message.

Sorry to hear about all this truly am i can kinda relate to what happened to you in this situation. To me it almost seems as if over time she just lost interest in you over time. Maybe because you did something of too much or too little of something. Women are very hard understanding people. They evaluate EVERYTHING lol and it may not seem it but they do. It's hard to say what went wrong with you too. Maybe she just did lose interest and didn't see you in that way anymore. But trust me take some time out for yourself and do things that make you happy, I know i may not be easy, but you can do it. We all can, just takes a little time and patience. Other then that, make new friends and look at the possibilities in life.

That's pretty stupid you got dumped just from that. I'd say it's a good thing you got dumped, because the relationship was bound to collapse eventually anyways. Atleast you can find someone else.
And with those comments you made, I suggest you don't do that at all. Women are hella sensitive. Not even in a joking matter.

sounds like she expected a lot out of you automatically. Didn't want to tell you but expected you know it right out of the gate.
