Im irish and can only speak a few words in irish doesnt mean I shouldnt be allowed to live here.
It's Gaelic I'm pretty sure but hardly anyone speaks it there. This mainly applies to countries where you go from one continent to another. Example, someone comes to the USA from Argentina or I go to China from the USA. It's a huge change, not just a few words different.
Gaelic/Irish its the same its mandatory for us to learn it in school for most people.Irish is a dead langauge and nobody really speaks it apart from certain parts of the country or people that go to an all irish school where all they do is speak irish.

bruh i swear gaelic is language spoken in some parts of Scotland

They're closely related because they have the same root but today they are very different. There's debate over whether or not you could even call them different languages or just different dialects, but because they are so different now I think it's fine to say they are different languages - Scottish Gaelic and Irish Gaelic.

however I don't think people NEED to know a language before moving.
They should at least attempt it though when they actually get in the country. Learning a language fluently can take years and for people moving as soon as possible can be a matter of life and death you dont know.

one thing that annoys me is those old racists who call others idiots for not knowing a language when these people moving over can be doctors etc when the person calling them stupid can be jobless.

I agree with him
