I can agree with this to a certain extent. Some guys are nice in there but some aren't welcoming at all and are only interested in speaking to staff.

The site isn't dying. People think this because of the insane growth the website had back when MW2 modding was a big hit. 100% when nextgen consoles are getting modded this website will be more active than back then.

The website now is still very much active. Can't say that I've seen your name around though.

I completely agree with this post 100%. Before I used to browse the forums looking for new people to play and talk to but now no one has any interest in anything but the stupid badges. Don't get me wrong, they're cool and all but you find a lot of replies that are minimalistic and have no relevance to the post at all. They only post to add +1 to their post count. Lately, I've just came on the site just to check out the latest gaming news. Hopefully, the community can evolve and go back to a forum instead of a spam message board.

Yeah the site is infested with people who come on to post useless shit just for the post count, it's good to see people want to come on to be active and post but not when it's useless rubbish which is normally way off topic. Most people don't even read the OP, they make replies just from reading the subject

Hopefully it changes and ttg is active and full of not just spammers, it's a great site and it's quite sad to see it go this way

I wouldn't say TTG Is dead, far from it. But I do agree it's not what It once was.

Back when people actually use to post half decent replies and spend time making useful threads, you could enjoy reading them. Instead you have people posting half assed comments to get their post count up and yeah, it's usually the ones that are going for the ATH badge.

Either way I'll still come on and visit just out of pure bordom, but in a few months time if something majour doesn't happen will I still come on? Probably not. Will anyone care? Probably not

If you expect to be welcomed in the shoutbox, then you shouldn't go anywhere near it. Only the lowest of the low hang there.

You say that TTG is dead, I say otherwise. I was saying this a couple of years ago but you can't compare it to the modded lobbies days. Sure, the site had a lot of traffic back then, but realistically, people where more interested in getting mods and such rather than contributing to the forum.

What I see now is a lot of hard working members that want to make a difference for TTG. Making topics, engaging in conversations and talking to each other all helps.

Sean has put a lot of work into allowing people to contribute in more ways than just posting too, like the badge system ect. There's many things you can do on TTG, maybe you're just not into the whole scene any more?

In terms of the SB, I'd say I've been active in there since what 2014? It's calmed down so much since then. I came back last year to see a whole new crowd in there, a different vibe, more chilled, less memes. It actually feels like the SB has grown up.

I don't know about anyone else, but TTG is still the place I go to talk about tech and keep up with news. There's so many people you can relate to, talk to, even game with.

Cheeky edit for spelling

Maybe 'welcoming' wasn't the correct term. But like I've seen people try to get involved and they get ignored and they leave. I usually pop in for a quick chat now and then.

Like for example, a new member would write to someone who's well known on the site, get ignored. Then said well known member would reply to other big names on here. Just an observation. Not saying its right or wrong, cause obviously not everyone has to speak to everyone.

I don't even know if I'm making sense now

I can agree with this to a certain point. Most of the members are not "hard-working". From what I've seen, all they do is post vague replies and write the same topics. Yes, they keep the site 'active' but they don't keep it interesting or keep it entertaining. There are some users, such as myself, who prefer one insightful and well thought out post than one hundred "yeah man, that's awful" posts. But, I will agree that a user such as myself could find another site to post on about deeper topics.

Yes, people wrongfully compare the MW2 modding days (which was only active due to leeching) to the site's current status. I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed TTG back in the MW2 days if I had the same point of view that I do today, due to it all being spamming leechers.

OP: The Shoutbox isn't really bad. There's lots of banter and you have to get used to it. If anybody crosses the line, the Staff team will probably take care of it.
