Allnutt wrote I wouldn't say TTG Is dead, far from it. But I do agree it's not what It once was.

Back when people actually use to post half decent replies and spend time making useful threads, you could enjoy reading them. Instead you have people posting half assed comments to get their post count up and yeah, it's usually the ones that are going for the ATH badge.

Either way I'll still come on and visit just out of pure bordom, but in a few months time if something majour doesn't happen will I still come on? Probably not. Will anyone care? Probably not

I agree with this, but I'm also starting to agree with the people who say that this site is a fun place to come and chill out with friends, not take too seriously, try to get some badges, and isn't a place for detailed discussions about a grand and diverse set of topics.

The culture on the site has changed. What used to be a minority of people posting a meme or inside joke from the shoutbox every now and again now seems to be the norm, and if not the norm then something that you can't really avoid running into.
Like I said though, I'm starting to agree with the people who say that's how it should be and if I don't like that or anyone else doesn't like that then we should just move on to somewhere else.

After all, this is a tech forum, and even back when the Conspiracy, Rant and World News forums were in full-swing people were concerned that they wouldn't stay that way because this is essentially a tech site. It's not somewhere for serious religious debates, political discussions, etc. even though they did happen occasionally and were interesting until things got 'out of hand.'

Trying to do something like that now on the forum with the culture it has now would be disastrous (or completely uninteresting because nobody wants to seriously offend anyone because everyone's a 'family') and I can't see things going back to the way they were.
At the same time though, I don't see why people who want it to be like that again can't go somewhere else where it is actually like that and stay on TTG as well.

All it takes is opening a new tab [I'm not saying you specifically don't Allnutt, just in general for the people who do complain about things like this (myself included.)]

Omg can we all stop beating a dead horse I'm getting so fed up with these posts defending the site or saying otherwise none of it matters from this point on meta posts like this will just result in a post ban people only post to trigger a hot debate. one thing is for sure if every thread on TTG becomes just about TTG the site will be dead stop it.
