Yin wrote Assuming this is legit, it's straight trash; although, I wouldn't be surprised considering his fondness of Duterte. Just tiring that killing seems to be answer to everything.
Yin wrote Death being the consequence is not justice. Justice is to take someone's freedom away if they do crimes. Personally, I think drugs in general should be decriminalized (though selling would probably still be illegal), and I'm also against all death penalties. It turning into a human rights situation is very valid.
Some people simply deserve to die.

What is so bad about this?
I think that we need more explanation of what he really thinks. If he means that every person who deals drugs ranging any where from weed to flaka needs to be put to death, then I would agree that this is a bad idea. But for people who do deal crazy drugs like flaka, I do believe that they should be put to death. Even if Trump does want all drug dealers dead, I would be okay with that. If you commit crime, you can do the time your not worthy of tax payers dollars and should be put to death.
where offenders can face death
I think everything should be taken into consideration. Is the person a career criminal, or is this their first offense. What is the persons motive? Etc. People like Pablo Escabar, Griselda Blanco, and Joaqun Guzmn Loera should have all been put to death. They will never change.
Our current laws are not working. If people knew that they might get put to death, they might not sell/traffic drugs. I see no harm in creating a law that would allow for drug dealers to be put to death with and expiration date like the federal assault weapons ban. Then we can collect some information and see if it had a positive impact.
Aside from deterring people from selling/trafficking drugs, this would also reduce our prison population. I'm sure that there are many more positives that could come from this. I do not see any harm that could be done. This is all assuming that a court would have to produce more than substantial evidence that the criminal can not change.

With that being said though, death penalty cases do cost a lot more tax payer money than life imprisonment.
Unless you lower the standard of evidence to such a state where appeals processes, expert testimony, forensics experts, mental health studies and other expensive aspects of capital cases weren't used, which would undoubtedly increase the number of innocent people put to death by mistake.
Hypothetically, if we had a way of knowing with 100% certainty whether or not someone committed a crime it wouldn't be too hard to sway me to your position - but we don't and innocent people do get executed.
Unless you believe that is a necessary sacrifice, of course.

It would take more consideration and more thought to make the law.
There is a lot of things that would need to be considered. And I know that evidence can be planted. But for example, if you are caught driving a truck full of cocaine across the border, it is pretty obvious that you trafficking drugs.
I think everything should be taken into consideration. Is the person a career criminal, or is this their first offense. What is the persons motive?
It is not as dry cut as "if you are caught with even the slightest amount of drugs then you are going to be put to death." And people who commit petty crimes such as selling a few ounces of weed should not be even considered for the death penalty. This should only apply to career criminals, people who commit major crimes, etc. Your usual drug dealer who is just trying to make a few bucks selling weed is not hurting any body for the most part. But big time drug lords are hurting people.
This is just a very generalized outline for the law, as stated earlier there is more that goes in to it.

Because, again, that isn't justice. It is just fulfilling the blood lust some people have. Prisons should work more to rehabilitate people. If someone is in for life, they should get to choose life or death. It shouldn't be up to anyone but them. The death penalty costs more than to house them. No civilized society should have something as barbaric and archaic as the death penalty anyway. The idea of wanting to be perpetually stuck in such a violent society is odd to me, one where a significant number of people actually suggest state-sanctioned murder.
I used to be all of the death penalty when I first joined this site. I also had the reasoning of some people being too monstrous to let live. Changed my opinion though when I found out the cost and the innocent people killed by the death penalty though. Also, the terribly bad people typically never get out of prison, so they are basically dead anyway without having to resort to such violence to achieve it. The only other issue would be corrupt guards or terrible prison setup where they could get information to people on the outside, which is whole other issue in itself.

Some people just need to be put to death. They can not change, nor do they want to change. They can still control things outside of prison. Some people also need to rot in prison. For example people like school shooters, rapists, etc, they all should rot in prison, but they should also be put to death. I do not believe that you can change their minds, they will be who they want to be. And you do not want to risk them escaping from prison, or harming anyone else. For example, El Chapo should have been put to death. He is/was allowed to have his life and spend it in prison, but he has escaped multiple times and caused harm to people.
And I do not believe that inmates should be able to chose whether or not they live. If I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life in prison, I would want the easy way out.
I did not know that putting someone to death cost more than a life imprisonment cost. I understand that there is a lot that goes into it, but surely there is some way to get the cost down. And there would have to be studies, but depending on how much crime and drug trafficking could be stopped, it would outweigh the cost of putting these people to death. For example, if you can stop a few big drug traffickers such as El Chapo, that is. Many of these big drug traffickers and dealers are also responsible for a lot of damage. El Chapo was responsible for the killing of 10,000 of thousands of people. I'm sure that your local drug dealers are responsible for at least a few deaths a piece. They are also making tons of money that could be spent elsewhere.
It would be great if we did not have to put people to death, but that is not the world we live in. I wish that we do not have to put people to death, but it is something that has to happen.

As stated earlier, i'm sure the cost could be lowered. There is always the risk that innocent people could be killed. That is why I said that there should be more than substantial evidence to prove that the person committed the crime and can not change. I'm sure that innocent people will still die, but it should be as minimized as possible. As stated earlier El Chapo escaped multiple times. And even if they are stuck in prison, they can still run things from the inside. Look at how many prison gangs we have that still working with the outside.
This topic is obviously nothing to be taken lightly. As I stated in another comment, there is much more that goes into it. People would need to sit down and think through everything.

I think the times he escaped were in Mexico, which they need to fix that. We need to change how inmates have access to other inmates. We need to fix some of the issues we have of escaping prisoners as well, but none of this requires killing.
Well, I'm all for assisted suicide for anyone of legal age, prisoner or not. The idea of forcing someone to exist when they don't want to is immoral in my opinion. I feel that prison is meant to take away basic freedoms of someone, somewhat as a punishment, but more so to protect everyone else outside of prison. I just can't get on board with the idea of sending people there just so they can feel miserable for the rest of their life. While there are some people that I'm not going to lose any sleep over if they feel bad, I'm not going to celebrate or encourage the idea of it.
Are we talking about actual murder? Then put the guy in prison where he belongs. If it ends up in a shootout, then that is where it ends. If we are talking about overdoses, I'm not ready to blanket blame the drug dealer for all of it just as I'm not blaming companies when someone dies of alcohol poisoning. People make the choice to put what they want in their body, as they should. It is their body. If they become a problem to other citizens (harassing, violent), arrest them accordingly.
I mean, if we put people in prison that is secure, we don't need to put them to death. The death penalty is just a choice. We can do without it. A number of states and countries have chose to abolish their death penalties. We can live in that world. We don't have to kill prisoners.
If innocent people are going to continue to die, I'm not even going to entertain the idea. Other than criminals having some ways to contact the outside world, which is its own problem, none of this is worth risking innocent people.
