Hey guys sorry in advanced if posting in wrong section but I need help. I have a fast metabolism and wondering how I can gain weight because no matter what I eat I see no improvements. I did some research and I just see a ton of different things. Any straight to go tips and also any foods I should eat that will help with gaining?

Have the same problem, currently now eating around 3.5k calories a day.

But I also go to the gym and go out for runs. Definitely do something like running 3 times a week, get up early and run 1-3 miles depending on how fit you're. That may burn 200-500 calories. But... when doing exercise like that you'll want to eat double the amount.

Once I do my run I have a protein drink with 1.5k calories, and also have breakfast a few hours after as I'm still hungry due to the run.

Try stick with healthy high carb/calories foods but a bit of junk food every now and then doesn't hurt. Just don't make your whole diet junk food though

Ok I'm gonna force myself to run because i know im not gonna do it lol. And just a bit of curiosity because I read that eating 3.5k calories a day helps like on what you said. What do you eat a day like for example what did you eat yesterday

I started by

Running
Protein shake with banana and full fat milk 1.5k calories (weight gainer extreme shake)
Breakfast 2 Nutella pancakes with big bowl of bran flakes
Lunch. Cheese and ham baguette with crisps, chocolate bar
Snack. Tescos sandwich meal (egg and cress)
Dinner. Steak, potatoes, green beans
Dessert. Plain sweet vanilla ice cream.

There also might be a few little things I missed like fruit but that's about it. Some days I even reach 4K calories.

Side note: one massive thing I found was you MUST drink water throughout the day avoid drinking orange juice or any fizzy drinks. Fizzy drinks are fine after you've had dinner but I found they would fill me up during the day and would make it impossible to eat all those means I listed .

Actually the reason I've always been skinny I think is because I'd have 1/2 or coca colas mid day which would stop me from eating much during the day.

You would need to break your high metabolism before you can see any progress of gaining weight. I use to have a high metabolism but after a few years it went away.

Boss is also right but I do feel a lot of skinny people THINK they eat a lot when in fact they don't. In my case anyway. Best way to check this is to note every food you eat in your daily routine right now and then see how many calories you're consuming daily.

If you did stick to a high calorie diet and be consistent with a healthy lifestyle you'd definitely see progress, it can just differ in the time it takes to see progress from person to person

Keep in mind there is good weight and bad weight

i.e. there's good fat and bad fat and then there's muscle

My brother went on a strict regiment of boiled chicken breast and green leafy vegetables with lots of water everyday for two months

First of, this is quite healthy

Second, do not over work, I can not stress this point enough if you want to gain weight, over work out will damage the muscles leading to illformation along with fat not being able to be processed into muscle properly

If you do the boiled chicken breast or gammon steak with no added salt and green leafy vegetables with plenty of water and a decent amount of work out

You will see big results super quick

Avoid protein shakes if you can they are expensive and not as healthy as the things I stated above
