So my situation right now is..
I have a steady job as a machine operator a CNC machine it's decent pay for my age and a that but it isn't a job where you can progress higher. I'm 20 years old and want a job I can work my way up to and the company I'm in is not the company to let someone work up etc.
So I'm thinking of leaving and starting over but i wouldn't be able to live on the wage I'd get if I go to a apprentice or I can't go college because my job I'm at now wouldn't allow me to take the day off to go.
I'm not sure what to d, to stay at my job and just stick it out until I decide what it is I want to do or start looking at a few things and go college the only thing stopping me is the decrease in money I'll clme across.
Any suggestions on what I should do?? Any help is appreciated no stupid comments please

I would stay put and get a few more years experience and then look for something better. I'm sure there is companies with similar work which will allow you to advance higher.
I know everyone tells you that college degrees and stuff are very important and yes they are important in some aspect but nothing is more important than experience.
If you are looking to change career completely then I would go back to college right away.

College is always a good idea man. Of course you may not be able to live with the wage if you change jobs, but if you want to move into a different career path, try and get back into college immediately.

I suppose main thing is I've got to think what I'd like to get into

For sure man.
Having an idea of what you want to do is better than nothing.

Go to college and get the grades in a subject you actually like and then find the right job for you. Money drop is there but depending where you live you may get student funding to help?

Stick at it for now and begin to save up. Keep your eyes out for any places looking for people in a similar field of work.
Use the savings to pull you through the 'unemployed' stage if you decide to make the jump elsewhere. You'll be fine man, people do it all the time.
Good luck
