I use Avast. 10/10 IMO. Been using it for probably 8 years now.

I haven't used antivirus for a very long time, the first PC I ever had I had malwarebytes on it, but after I learned the do's and donts, I just haven't needed it.
Only thing I really use for maintenance is CCleaner, for registry cleanup and removing all the bloatware Windows 10 comes with that isn't visible on the uninstall list in control panel.
Just be smart, don't download without researching first, and don't reply to emails from Nigerian princes, and you should be okay

A buddy of mine once "Obtained" a copy of norton, in a "less than legal" way, but then it detected itself as a virus, and installed itself. Norton knows their stuff, somewhat, kinda, it's arguable, but I still don't use antivirus lol

Norton is aids, AVG is horrid.
Windows defender is great unless you're download a fair few files/programs. I use ESET Security which is spot on, has virus and malware definitions built in which many don't.
Don't ever run 2 or more AV programs at a time.
