no because making modfications to a system/equipment you own is not agaisnt any laws. If you begin selling them without concent from microsoft than you can be sued for breacking copyright laws. but other than that your good to go =)

Jtaging a xbox only violates microsofts terms of agreement. Which when violated gives them the right to terminate your service with out refund. Its not against the law. Nor is going online and hosting lobbies.
It is against the law to have backed up games without showing that you own a actual copy.
