Hey guys, i'm making a tutorial on how to downgrade your 4.1.2 or any firmware you have currently installed on your ipod touch/iphone.
NOTE: This doesn't work on 3GS new bottom or iPhone 4,don't think it works on iPod tough 2nd gen mc either, you need shsh for that.
Step One: Find out what generation your ipod is! How do you do this? Theres an app called battery magic, it has all your ipod's information that you need on it, and its free! Heres how to get it.
Go to the App Store > Search > Battery Magic > Open The App > Scroll up on the scrolling Bar up to the very top and it will say you Generation [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Step Two: Go to [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and look for where it says your device/generation and click the firmware you want to downgrade to and download.

Step Three: Once you have your firmware, plug in you ipod and and open itunes. > Go to your device.

Step Four: Once your on you device, it should have a screen like the picture below, what you do is hold down your "shift key" an click on restore, it will bring up the downloaded firmware. Now you click open on the firmware.

Doesn't work on Non-MC iPod Touch 2nd Gen either. Been trying to go from 4.0 to 3.1.x for ever.
