when i try to run black ops on pc i get this error

unable to locate component
this appllcation has failed to start because d3dx9_49.dll was not found.

d3dx9_49.dll is a DirectX file. You can download the d3dx9_49.dll or download the latest version DirectX and it should work.

What does it do exactly? Does it hang on load up or come with another error? Did you uninstall and reinstall the game?

See which version of DirectX you need.
Sometimes the game wont work with the latest one so look it up and install that version.
