i'm going to have to say this looks more like a summery of a book that a high school kid just read
i would tell you to use this as a plot line and build each character and maybe not such a kid name for the dad "Cody" i don't see many adults named that.
but really i gibe you props for starting it just get on getting it!

there are a lot of grammatical errors that need to be fixed and the story's plot is a little too point blank if you know what i mean. you need to elaborate or explain more. you are just mostly listing everything about him. also, if you explained more about each detail the story would already be a lot longer. overall i would give it a 6/10. hope i helped!
