Any cat5 ethernet cable or up going to and from the router will work if it's possible in your situation. Or if not use a powerline adapter may not be as good as a hard wired connection

Just ask your current provider to unlock it. It's usually cheaper than going else where to get it unlocked, Who's you're current provider?
