Overview

Getting the latest FIFA game is a lot like hooking up with your ex-girlfriend after a while apart. There is an instant familiarity but there are always a few new tricks that werent there last time. The FIFA franchise is arguably the planets most successful sports game and the reason for this is that they continue to build and improve with each instalment. FIFA 12 introduces a lot of new features while still keeping the nuts and bolts of FIFA 11.

Gameplay

A major new gameplay addition is Tactical Defending. There has been a lot of hype about this new defensive system, with many fans complaining that it is too difficult. To some extent they have a point, when you first stick the FIFA 12 disc into your Console/PC, expect a couple of good hidings (were talking 4-1 or 6-2 score lines). The reason for this is you are still trying to tackle like FIFA 11, flying in to tackles and mashing the tackle button. In FIFA 12 you need to be smarter than that. Tackling require timing and consistent pressure, forcing defenders to make mistakes or scramble to deliver a 50/50 pass. Sure, it takes a while to get used to the new system but its totally worth it. Games become far more competitive, with midfield battles becoming a big part of the match and the need to concentrate for the full 90 minutes imperative. It does make the game more real than ever before.

There are also a few other new gameplay additions such as Precision Dribbling and some new skill moves which add increased depth and realism to the game. One of the main additions that is worth mentioning, is the Player Impact Engine. This is a new physics engine that enhances player collisions to yet again increase the realism. Here you can expect bone-crunching tackles as well as the ability to bump players off the ball if you jostle with them. On the down side there are quite a few glitches when players collide off the ball, but they are few and far between and dont really impact on the game at all.

Story

The bread and butter of FIFA has always been the Career Mode. There are a number of features from previous FIFA titles that make their way back into the new game. Addressing the press before key matches for example as well as the introduction of Deadline Day allowing you to make a couple of last minute transfers to bolster you squad or cash in on the desperation of other managers. FIFA 12 also now includes the ever popular FIFA Ultimate Team bundled with the game for the first time (previously it was available only as downloadable content).

Graphics

FIFA 12 isnt a huge step up from FIFA 11 graphically, but there is a lot more attention to detail. The HUD (heads up display) for example changes depending on the competition that you are playing in Barclays Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League etc which is pretty cool. Injuries have improved, for example a player can pull a hamstring when sprinting that causes him to immediately limp and clutch his leg. Overall it looks very slick, as you would expect from a AAA title.

Summary

FIFA 12 has a number of major changes which make this the best FIFA title yet. If you are looking for a realistic football experience, then this is it. The new defending adds another dimension and provides a challenge for both new and veteran players. Well worth the cash in my opinion.

Castle Miner Z

Castle miner Z is like one of the most best games i have ever played. This game is like some of the titles, FortressCraft & MineCraft etc. How ever this game has monster, and by that i mean zombies ! While you have been making you house in the night time it finally turns to dusk. This leaves you with you house and zombies. You could ether fight to earn more blocks, or go to bed for the night. You can also mine for gold, sliver, copper, bronze, and diamond. You may also make weapons. Now by weapon's i don't mean like swords and axes, i mean gold AK-47's and gold pistols. You can also forge stuff on your forging table.

I give this indie game a 5/5 rate... Here is some game play below !

This game is available on the xbox 360 marketplace for 240 MSP's.

Synopsis

Lock, Load, & Face the Madness! Get ready for the mind-blowing insanity, as one of four trigger-happy mercenaries, taking out everything that stands in your way. With its addictive action, frantic first person shooter combat, massive arsenal of weaponry, RPG elements and four-player co-op, Borderlands is the breakthrough experience that challenges all the conventions of modern shooters. Borderlands places you in the role of a mercenary on the lawless and desolate planet of Pandora, hell bent on finding a legendary stockpile of powerful alien technology known as The Vault.

Gameplay

You start off on a bus on your way to a town known to the people of Pandora as "Firestone"
While on the bus, you'll be given the option to choose between four different classes-Also known as the mercenaries you'll be able to play as. I'll be sure to add the Classes later on in this post.

After you arrive in Firestone, you'll be greeted by the games Mascot, who introduces himself by the name of CL4P-TP. You can also refer to him as 'Claptrap', as the game will many of times. Claptrap will provide you with your HUD(Heads up display) and walk you through the process of naming your character. He'll advance you through the town as you fight a couple of bandits for him, while you learn your basic attacks and controls.

While Claptrap is advancing you through a part of the town, he'll give you a set of weapons and ammo. The weapons you receive, vary on the class you have chosen.

I'm not going to go on further about how the campaign actually is, because i want you guys to experience on your own and have some surprises along the way.

Claptrap will be there throughout the campaign, so you won't be getting rid of him anytime soon.

The campaign consists of many, many NPC's that will provide you with missions(quests). Some will get you items of more value than others, but they are all worth it in the long run. The campaign is quite long, but if you find yourself advancing through without too much work, there are a lot of side missions to keep you occupied.

Classes

Soldier(Roland)

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The Soldier class is the most used class on borderlands. If you aren't familiar with the game, the soldier is the easiest class to get used to and do good with. Roland(Soldiers name) is specialized in using Assault Rifles and shotguns. You can increase your shotguns damage and overall stats by using skill points on your skill tree. Only certain Sub-Categories on the skill tree will effect your stats. The soldier wields around a Scorpio Turret. The Scorpio turret is capable of doing many things, From healing you and your teammates, to dropping ammo for you. You also will have to use skill points on your skill tree to increase the Scorpios stats.

Siren(Lilith)

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The Siren is the ideal class for players that want more of an exciting campaign. The Siren is equipped with the ability to Phase-Walk and damage enemies without them even seeing you. The Sirens melee consists of a great force of damage that will hurt, if not kill most of your enemies. The Siren is specialized in Elemental guns. As in guns that have Corrosive,Shock,Incendiary, elemental effects.

Hunter(Mordecai)

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The hunter is actually a pretty fun class to use. Living up to his name, He's a natural hunter. His favorite weapons are Sniper Rifles and Repeaters(pistols). Like all other classes, you can increase his stats by using skill points to level up your skill tree options. You're bird Bloodwing also follows you into battle. He'll attack up to six enemies and make them drop loot when you need it the most. Use artifacts to add elemental effects to his attacks.

Berserker(Brick)

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The Berseker is a huge fighter, capable of dealing insane amounts of damage to his enemies. He deals the most melee damage of all the classes. He's specialized in Explosives. Which means Rocket launchers, grenades and many other weapons. His special ability is Rage mode. He gets really mad, and using only his fists, he can deal insane amounts of damage to any enemy. You're able to punch and swing with both hands at once, increasing the amount of damage dealt to your enemies. The Berserker is my least favorite class of all to be honest.

Skill Tree

The Skill tree is a tree of skills/action upgrades that will increase a lot of your damage and stats for many different things. The tree has different sub-categories, Some for your special ability, and some for your specialized weapons. You can upgrade your skill tree by using skill points, which are earned by leveling up. Every couple of levels you are granted a skill points for your progress. It takes about 146 skill points to max out your skill tree.

Weapons

Borderlands has literally bazillions of guns, different variations of all the guns allow this to be possible. There are about 10 gun manufacturers, each having thousands of guns of any type. Including; Shotguns, launchers,Assault rifles,Repeaters,Sniper rifles, and many more weapons.

Multiplayer

Unlike other games Multiplayer feature, The borderlands feature doesn't involve players fighting against each other. The multiplayer actually allows players to play through the campaign together. Up to 4 players can play at once online. Money that the player loots is distributed throughout the players in the lobby, preventing any unfair earnings.

Graphics

The graphics of Borderlands aren't the best, they are more on the animated side. Funny how all games are animated, but i hope you get what i mean. As i did in my Prototype review, I'll be sure to add a couple of gameplay videos later on.

Despite my thought on the graphics, don't let it get you down. They are extremely easy to get used to, and after a while you'll realize that they aren't that bad at all. If the graphics were a lot better, i probably wouldn't like the game as much. The graphics are what make Borderlands the game it is today.

My Overall Opinion

To start off, there are no words that can express my love for this game. Sounds amazingly cheesy, but the game is amazingly amazing. The campaign is always on the right track and never leaving me bored out of my mind. The constant feeling of being on the out look for better guns and knowing there are some, is another thing that keeps me liking the game more and more every day. The campaign kept me occupied for a while, and even if it didn't, i could always go back and play through again with a different class. I have a lot to say about this game, but i can't put it all into one paragraph, The point is that the game is amazing and i would play it over any game on any day.

My Rating

10/10

Stuntman

Game Information
Release Date: June 21, 2002
Developed By: Reflections Interactive, Infogrames/Atari
Platform: Play Station 2, Game Boy Advanced, Mobile Phones
Age Restriction: T

Game Play:

There are 3 game modes in Stuntman. All of these game modes were single player, and there was no multiplayer in the game. The games three game modes were: Stuntman Career, Stunt Construction, and Driving Games. In the Career mode, you must complete several car chase scenes. Every race had several spots the racer had to reach and both visual and audio markers marked these spots. After the completion of these stunt scenes, players are rewarded with both money and vehicles and other tools for construction mode. The scenes in the chases occurred in London, rural Louisiana, Bangkok, Switzerland, Egypt, and Monaco. After completing these missions, the player unlocks all of the content for Construction mode. In construction mode, the player creates different courses to play and then attempts to go through the created course without destroying their car. Overall, this game is very entertaining.

Rating:

This game is extremely entertaining, however the car chase scenes can be nearly impossible. After beating the car chases, the construction mode was very entertaining and proved to be something that would provide fun for hours. The game had extremely good graphics and car physics, compared to other games that were created at the time. I give the game an 8.5/10. It was a very solid and original game.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversarys campaign has the same story as Halo: Combat Evolved, with the addition of achievements, terminals, and online co-op.

In Halo Anniversary edition you have the ability to switch from the updated graphics engine to the original, and vice versa, by pressing the back button on the Xbox 360 controller.

The Anniversary edition also has subtitles available for in-game and combat dialogue. A new feature to this integration is the Library. When the command analyze is given, specific characters, vehicles and objects can be scanned and an index for detailed information on them is made available. The remastered graphics are also available in 3D for 3D televisions.

Those scores youre all waiting for are down below.

Graphics: 9

Yes the chief is back and running on the reach engine providing users with superb graphics and the option to switch it all off at the flick of a button, allowing you to relive those glory days with the chief as you remember them but why you would want to is beyond me the game looks brilliant and really shows what a remastered edition of a game should look like, not just a HD option.

Gameplay: 9

Well, this is where it all started and nothings changed. The Chief still kicks butt and seems like he always will.

The Kinect features however seem like a tacky extra just thrown over the top of a brilliant game just to have the words Supports Kinect on the box, the voice commands are either too slow or unresponsive, saying that the only one that worked well was Pause, other than that its a case of screaming at the screen about 20 times just to throw a grenade or reload and it has no place in a fast-paced game like Halo.

Sound: 8

Its all there people, every epic moment, every grunt noise, and it sounds so much better this time around. So prepare for a Halo style ear-fest.

3D: 8

I only managed about 45 mins in 3D due to time restraints, but from what I saw good solid lines and no noticeable loss of quality. 3D made it a very enjoyable experience.

Overall Fun Factor: 9

Yes people its that good! Its the way Halo should have been, had we had access to todays technology 10 years ago. A must for all to see the Chief in action for the first time all over again.

Terminator Salvation

Game Information
Release Date: May 19, 2009
Developed By: GRIN, Equity Games, Evolved Games, Sony Computer Entertainment
Genre: Third-person shooter
Platform: Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, iOS
Age Restrictions: T

Synopsis:

The game begins with the war between humans and machines. John Connor reflects on the old days of preparing for the future battle, but is beginning to lose hope by the massive number of human losses. The three continue to go to Skynet while defending themselves. They decide to go to a tower so they can observe Skynet patrols so as to plan a route to rescue Weston. They encounter T-600s with rubber skin, which the trio destroy. Connor warns the other two about the T-850, which has real, vat-grown skin. They reach the tower, where they encounter a Hunter-Killer, but Connor, Williams and Angie manage to destroy it. There are too many machines on a nearby street that they planned to go down, so the three decide to go to Union Station at the subway, following all tracks to Skynet. They traverse their way to a hidden survivalist camp. The survivalists seem to, at first, not trust them (because of the T-600s with skin), but they manage to gain their trust. They say they have not encountered Skynet for a long time. They go their separate ways, but Warren says they can visit them anytime. Warren still has doubts of their plan, saying that they could not communicate as long as a Skynet communications tower still stands. Barnes joins the three, saying he's tired of running and wishes to join the Resistance. Battling numerous machines to infiltrate the Skynet compound, an alarm is accidentally triggered when Connor steals important documents; Angie sacrifices herself so that Connor and the others can return to the surface. Connor is fixing what appears to be a vehicle. He calls his base, saying he needs airpower to rescue Weston's team. Linda says it is going to be a problem, because of a harvester. "That won't be a problem," Connor says, because Connor reprogrammed a Hunter-Killer tank, and programmed it to go straight to Skynet. He does not have control of the guns, though. They destroy four areas of turrets and machines. Connor, Williams and Barnes are joined by three men to deactivate the turrets and to find Warrens men. Warren and the others cover Connor by destroying as many machines as possible. They traverse Skynet and destroy all machines that they encounter, until they find Weston and his men. Warren's men agree to escort them to the vehicles. The four try to make it to the control room. Connor shuts down the machines for a few minutes, enough time to get them out of Skynet. The four attempt to escape Skynet before they destroy the base. With the four of them safe, they all return to their Resistance camp. Connor narrates, saying that he has gained faith by what he is about to create in the future, instead of the past.

Single Player Rating:

The single player for this game was excellent. It had a gripping and fun story line. The story, however, did not follow the movie very well. The game was named after the movie, however it was apparently a separate storyline that occurs somewhere between the events of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation. This games single player was, nonetheless. I give the games single player an 8/10.

Graphics Rating:

For the most part, the graphics looked decent. The games graphics portrayed the unreal objects of the future in a very good way and made the images sharp. The in game voices were also very good sounding. I give the graphics a 7/10.

Overall Rating:

This game was an excellent remake of a movie. Most games based upon a movie are not very well made, yet this game was one of the exceptions. I would recommend anyone who is into sci-fi games to purchase this game. I give the game a 7.5/10.

Game- Alone in the Dark
ATARI, Bink Video
Rating-15.
Console- Xbox 360.

Synopsis

In one apocalyptic night, Edward Carnby must fight forces to reveal the east-shattering secrecy of Central Park.

The Game Play

The Gameplay for this game is not that good, you are restricted to what you can do, there is no multiplayer which is a downside to the game. The game requires concentration to the story line to figure out what is actually going on. There are Blockbuster Clips, in-between each mission; these clips generally display a vicious fight between two people or what is going to happen next in the story.
The game is highly un realistic, this is due to the fire. If you run into fire you will not get burned, but if you stand remotely near it you will catch fire. This relates to missions with fire extinguishers, you have to put out fires, but it generally takes two canisters to put the fire out!

Controls

The controls are poor, you only have 2 selectable options for the controls and neither are really suitable to a fast gamers needs. The sensitivity is bad and the missions are un-realistic.

Graphics

The graphics are bad in-game, when you turn quickly the image blurs for about 2 seconds, this is a downside when you have something running at you. This game will support 720P HDTV, it claims to support 1080P but runs slowly.

What I think

I do not like this game, I would not recommend it either.
I rate it 5.8/10.0

December Dash Update

Release Date: December 6th 2011
Platforms: Xbox 360
Dash Number: 2.0.14699.0

Synopsis

It (the dashboard)will include a completely new user interface which utilizes Microsoft's Metro design language, and will add new features such as cloud storage for game saves and profiles, live television, Bing voice search, access to YouTube videos, Skype integration, and better support for Kinect voice commands.

Feedback

So far I LOVE IT the only thing is that it takes a little while to get used to. This Dashboard is a whole new concept for the Xbox 360 and in my view is going to start a new generation for the system. This is not the final dash release, there will be updates with apps such as youtube in the future. Some people are having trouble connecting to live with the new dash (this is being fixed) I have not had this problem. The download was VERY quick (I just got a 290 hdd that might be why). The design is one of the best parts while keeping the kinect players menu (when you hit the big X) the actual dash is a sleek black, usually xbox has stuck with white but have been changing it up in the past few years with the Elite, then the Slim. Overall a good dash it will be alot better when youtube is added this is what im looking foward to the most .

Overall rating for the new dash: 10
