I Wouldn't say the xbox slim is heat proof, But id say it wouldn't get RROD as easy as the other xbox

Well nothing is going to be heat proof. I know that mine was able to survive 110 F with 70% Humidity and it was working fine. Same with my Falcon retail. You should be fine but I would call Ms to make sure. I do not think that you would be better off with the PS3 this is a problem that they would both have it is not just with 360. If you are going to get him a slim buy the extra fan add on that you can find in Wal-Mart or Game Stop or some place like that. That should also lower the CPU and GPU overall tep down to were it is ok to run. Also see how long he was playing it. If he was playing for 8 hours straight that is very bad for it but if he only plays at night and only for 4 hours top there is really a very little chance that anything could happen. You should also ask Ms about humidity that might be your problem not the temp. If moisture gets into the system that is just as bad as it being 200 outside it just is not meant to run in those conditions. Hope that this helped you out.

Nothing is essentially 'heat proof', but as long as you don't block the fans up, or play for more then like 5 hours a day you're VERY unlikely to get red rings.
