No, what's the future? Playing games with mind control? Unless someone creates a new genre, we don't have much to look forward to. On the other hand, there is yet to be a high-caliber motion controlled fps game. The best so far is conduit, but the ratings were mediocre (7/10) and the graphics weren't next-gen like Call of Duty or Battlefield. I can't wait to see who makes that motion-controlled shooting game that racks in awards and 9+/10 ratings on Metacritic. But, the future of controller-based games isn't good at all. Call of Duty, the best selling series of all-time, is in it's last legs. Battlefield will hold up the downfall of FPS games and maybe Halo 4 will pick it up. Sports games have been in the toilet. The only good game was a basketball game (NBA 2K11) and there's a reason for it. Corporate America. Eliminating competition, buy exclusive licenses, it's the reason the sports genre hasn't had many memorable titles over the last 6-7 years now. 2K and Sony locked EA out of the Baseball race, (EA makes the best baseball games too. The MVP Baseball series is better than any baseball game out there despite it not being current-gen) EA knocking 2K out of the football race, (2K made incredible football games, some where close to perfect, which is rare for a sports game) (EA has an exclusive license that was shared with 2K, and then was narrowed down to EA in 2006 until 2014) and the result is this: Soccer games, (America doesn't really like soccer) and Hockey games, (Hockey? Maybe a bit higher than soccer on the totem pole but not much) are the best Sports games out there. Fighting and action games are ruled by franchises that have been popular for almost 20 years now, and they don't change much, they are good games, just not original. Adventure games are hitting it big just like FPS games were in 2 years ago, with Uncharted 3 coming in hot. LittleBigPlanet is another big-name adventure title. A new Lara Croft is coming out, but, I'm more excited about LBP and Uncharted 3. Then, we have the console wars. XBOX 360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii. First of all, if you have XBL, and got your account phished, the winner is PS3 by a mile. PS3 has a blue-ray player, free online play, and while you can say it got hacked, Sony gave out two free games and PSN points for the inconvenience. But, PS3 is more modifiable than XBOX 360, therefore XBL has the edge is both are free. Unfortunately, XBL is not. Although PS3 started at 400$ and 360 started at 300$, if you bought XBL and a wireless adapter, (in 2006) it would cost 430$ (6 years of live + adapter) a WHOPPING total of 730$. PS3 in total, 470$. I don't have a PS3, but statistically, it sounds better. I think PS3 is the winner, two years ago XBOX 360 would be, but PS3 has some amazing exclusive titles like MGS4, LBP, LBP2, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, and also has a motion based fps game unlike the XBOX 360. (MAG) Wii is a boy among men, no contest at all. The future of gaming is motion-based gaming, but the PC is always there if you wanna go old-fashioned.

I havent really payed much attention to upcoming releases on video games. But I do hope that they turn out well. Because what else is there to do in your free time really? So if they come out with good games in the future, that is what satisfies their customers most, a good game that doesnt get old after a few times playing it.

No the future of gaming ain't looking good since almost everyone is behind computer or tv but this can learn people some way to act in IRL or learn some new thing about languages if they aren't english like me... I personaly play lot of games and it can be very addictive but i know my limit and some doesn't their limit so it can give them a bad life that you don't wanna live anymore ... Also games can be f2p but mostly on consoles it cost money and kid always getting money for what? Another video-game to waste all his day instead of working or going outside so nuff said about this.

It does get old.

Now you have Inifinity ward, and treyarch battling.

If treyarch comes out with an RC Car that explodes

Inifnity ward will come out with an RC Boat that explodes

Then it becomes rediculous
