Ishcabible wrote So I finally got a package from California Headphones. It was another Laredo... Someone's in trouble.

What a letdown. Send them an angry letter about how great their stuff is.

Maybe it's a newer revision? Wasn't there a pre-release model?

I also signed up for Xeport's referral program, can't wait to see if anything comes of it.

I dunno, but I'm going to keep it sealed until I get an answer. I highly doubt that they'd sound different, since they're from the same original shipment I think, but if I get an email telling me to compare them, I wouldn't mind that.

Ooh didn't know Xeport had that! More companies should have that.

I doubt they'll let me in, but it was worth a shot. I don't know what their policies are, and I guess I'm in a position to distribute a lot of codes!

Dang their prerequisites are kind of rough. 3k subscribers?

500 views on each video sounds a little low to me, though. If that's the right number I'm remembering. I'm sure they'd send pairs to actual established reviewers, though. And the sub count is for review units.

Alright, just got my XB500 in the mail. I'm a matter of minutes into listening, and here's what I know already. All music mentioned is lossless or 320 kbps.

Mother of god. These headphones were created specifically for this song. It's not complex enough to trip them up and it shows off the full capabilities of the bass of these cans. It's making me dizzy and I like it.

Spanish video has the best quality, neat. If I didn't know what to expect from this song, I would be completely unaware of the guitar melody on the chorus. It's just not there and if anything, it sounds like these headphones make no effort to keep anything separated and all the sounds run together. Tim McIlrath's voice sounds alright, but a little funky. Jury's still out on whether I'm too weirded out by it. I'll try listening to voices I'm familiar with, but it's not bothering me at all. Sounds fine, really.

Picked this song because it's got a lot of very sharp high notes (especially the club mix, which I have) and isn't too complex. If you ask me, it handles highs well. Better than I expected. Nothing painful like my M50s are with this track at high volume, but they've got enough reach to them. Some mid notes sound WAY off, very funky. Bass is, of course, lovely. Stays in it's place, too!

Another great Richard James song for these, good quality for Youtube as well. These seem to love tracks that aren't overly complex. No voices to screw up, great bass, fun to listen to. I love these headphones, they're great at what they do well.

Now to see if these will be good movie headphones like I've been hoping.

Brilliant. The bass is thunderous and I can hear the strings of the double bass vibrating inches from my ears and it shakes my head. I can't wait to watch action movies with these bad boys.

There you have it, a half-arsed headphone review from someone who has no idea what they're talking about. Will post more later!

Yeah they really seem to not like vocals, but my limited electronic collection sounded awesome with them. Glad you like them! The deal seems to be going on still. Maybe it's a perpetual deal?

Cheers man but I really need some that I can get before this Saturday. Sadly the Vsonics being made in Asia means that they're all pretty much over a week delivery. Anything similar available on Amazon? I've heard good things about the Brainwavz M2, would they suit my requirements?
