v2shotz wroteSkruffy wrotev2shotz wroteSkruffy wrote who cares about that bro, mine is also a 5.9, and i have a 1tb hdd.
if it were a ssd it would probably be better
i set a goal of 7.0 sub score just need someone to tell me how to reach it
no idea
and we need to know the
what kind of cpu, gpu, ram you have before someone can make a call on whether it is good for gaming or not.
CPU: Phenom II x4 (quadcore 3.5GHz)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6990 GDDR5
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS M4A78LT-M LE Core unlocker MX
RAM:: 8GB (2X4GB) RipJaws
HDD: 2TB Samsung HDD
cpu is pretty good, a little out dated, but its fine
gpu is nice
mobo is good
ram is good
you should be able to run almost all games

valdiston wrote thats really strange that the score would be that low. you should check the clock speeds in whatever program you have for doing that and see if it got downclocked also to get a score of 7.0 or higher you need to get a better hard drive. the only way to really get over 5.9 is to have a 2 drives of 7200 rpm or higher in a raid 0 alignment or to get a well made SSD
is it worth unlocking the AMD overdrive?

you can but it still seems quite odd thats is a 7.0 i mean my 6870 that's only a 1gig card at 900Mhz scores a 7.8 on their, the 6990 is a 4gig GDDR5 card with a high clock speed(i don't know it off the top of my head) but that should be an easy 7.9
-edit- since you paid 699 for it you must have the MSI card you could always use MSI Afterburner to check the clock speed.

IF you actually have a 6990 and are asking questions if it could play games..then there is something wrong.

in Windows EI, your score goes of the lowest score. So for you your score is low because of you HDD transfer rate, to get to your desired 7.0 you would have to get a faster transfer HDD. However, this is not important for playing games.
Hope this helps

The 6990 will play every single game out there above 1080p with no problems. It's very powerful..and loud.
Just remember to get the latest drivers from AMD.
