I plan after I get my next paycheck that I'm going to buy myself a Laptop, but I don't have any idea of what to get.. I do not know much about laptops at all, so some of these points may sound dumb. I'm sorry in advance haha. Please post a link of the laptop(s) you recommend.

** I also heard that Beats Audio is joined with a computer company, is that true? and does it make a difference?

Main uses:

. Watch Movies
. Download/ Listen to Music
. Browse the Web [Obviously]
. School Work [Papers, Research, Videos, etc.]

What I would Like:

I want something that I can get on sites like TTG and programs like iTunes quickly, and with ease. I'm not sure if it has much to do with the laptop, but my last one was so slow I can't put into words.. I want one that downloads and surfs the web fast. I want something with a good bit of room as I will have a lot of music, movies, programs, etc. downloaded onto the laptop. Preferably good sound quality and graphics for movies and an occasional game or two. I rarely ever play PC games, but I play games such as MineCraft every now and then. Lastly, something that will last long, look nice, and has a good battery.

if u do your research, you will see that the asus laptops are the best... why pay 1500 - 2500$ on a mac book pro? what are you actually paying for? look at the aspects... the processor is the same size... the graphics card is the same... u will just be wasting ur money on the name. and on top of all that the asus company makes most of the other computers motherboards. =]

To all the Mac people.

NO.

Shoo.

Begone.

I'd get a Lenovo Thinpad X220. Incredible build quality, performance, battery life, looks, and features. People that know laptops love Thinkpads. It sounds like it fits your needs just right.

You do pay a bit of a premium over other laptops, but it's definitely worth it. It's still not as much of a premium as Macs have, too. The difference between the premium of Thinkpads and the premium of Macs is that... The Thinkpad is actually worth it!

Audio quality doesn't have much to do with the laptop. Onboard sound sucks, no matter what. You have to get away from that with a USB DAC and amp. What headphones do you have? Hopefully not Beats/Skullcandy/Bose. If you want good quality, post in my topic.

If you need any more advice, tell me. I'm good at this kind of stuff.

If you want one with those same specs and capabilities but better build quality and battery life, look at the Thinkpad X120e by Lenovo.
