DO NOT GET A MAC. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Thanks for all of the help man.

I'm not doubting you or anything, but what makes the mac so bad?

Many, many things. To name just a few:

Shoddy hardware. Yes. The hard drives they use WILL go bad. With what you pay for them, Apple should put a top quality WD Black in there and have an individual warranty on it. The failure rate is just astonishing.

Build quality is not what you think it is. It might be all pretty and tight, but they're really pretty wimpy. On the inside, there is little reinforcement. Thinkpads have what is essentially a rollcage inside of them.

Battery life is far below what it is rated for.

Factory upgrades are exorbitantly priced. It's just ridiculous.

There are very few ports on all models.

The fans are extremely loud and sound like hair dryers since the heat management is so terrible.

The operating system commits Seppuku (look it up, one of my favorite words) every 6 months, like clockwork. Permissions become scrambled, fragmentation everywhere.

They are not as secure as you would think. Macs can be likened to houses in the country with open doors, and PCs (Windows) can be likened to houses with iron bars in the worst part of town. It is not impossible to write Unix viruses. Far from it. It's quite easy.

It is not easier to use. That is purely subjective. Of course a Mac person will find their OS easier to use. They use it all the time and don't have much experience on other OSes.

Ridiculously priced. Quality may come at a price, but not here.

There are quite a few more, but I have stuff to do.
