Competition would be good.
But there is a problem to that, Some people take competition way to far.
Example: Someone will think they can win but will lose and will cry about the fact for days.
But my over all opinion is that yes there should be more competition but you have to be at a certain level. This way people can play with other people that are suitable for them. Instead of having people that don't even match someone else's level and it isn't a fair game.
Hope everyone likes my idea.

(If it was a) competitive competition (of game play) = Move coverage and sponsors.
Move coverage and sponsors = More recognition = More money and more people wanting to take part = Bigger community.
So yes i would say its a good thing for the gaming world, but only if you look at it from my point of view.

Good one.
The reason why is cause if people succeed in a "Virtual" World. They might be able to gather self esteem and succeed in real life.
Sincerely,

I think that things are as competitive as they need to be, with people yelling bloody murder and threatening people over a video game.

I'm going to say yes,
because one we would get more consolese which would let more people come into the video game world but there would be alot more fighting over which console is best but we would have a more variety to choose from.

It would be an amazing thing. You wouldn,t get as board as you normaly would because yours always number 1 of the last games summary.
More competition = good
Less competition = VERY VERY BAD

No, I don't believe that this would be a Good thing.
This would cause game developers to just throw anything they have out, onto public sale. This will mean the quality of the games go down, just so they can make money. A prime example of this is Activision/ Treyarch/ Infinity Ward. They throw out a Call of Duty every Year jsut to stump up a load of cash for themselves. I'm sure anyone would agree that if they took 2 years to make each COD then the quality and lifespan of that game would be much better.
Saying this, though, it doesn't apply for all genres. Sports genres for instance are extremely beneficial of yearly releases because a lot can change as well as be improved upon. Competition therefore, will make the Devs work harder for these as they will all be fighting for top spot. EA, the makers of FIFA and Madden for example, are starting to put a lot more effort into their sports game because they are becoming bigger and bigger and they don't want to lose top spot.
So, overall I think that competition can be both good and bad. It just depends on the genre.... And how greedy the Devs are. *cough* Activision *cough*

Yes, Gaming is getting so boring now, general Call of Duty players often mess around or are just generally not very good at the game, that is why I play Game Battles since its taken more seriously and there is more competition.
