XNA isn't anywhere near easier.


Compared to most other game engines XNA is quite easy. It would probably be the easiest game engine for xbox (Not sure about those closed source ones how easy they are)

My advice is simple and straight-forward.

Learn Java to a good extent, then learn about Java Game Development.

I'd suggest learning from videos rather than books, so you can learn from seeing and doing.

A good site for any programming would be,

I'm learning Java from that site and find it very interesting, but it does take dedication and nothing happens overnight.

Really? Thought it was Java and objective C, my mistake. But yes they do have them for it too.
