Christmas, over years, has become much more of a cultural holiday, and has lost lots of its religious aspects. It's a worldly holiday now, celebrated by all religions and races.

Also to the people saying atheists just don't believe in God, how can they believe in Jesus if they don't believe in God? That's just ret*rded. Atheists just generally don't believe in Heaven or any of that stuff. The reason they celebrate Christmas is because it's a worldwide event, and they're not miserable twats that won't join in with their families that will probably be celebrating Christmas.
