-Destined- wrote I personally want to believe in God, but I can't. There is no valid proof and almost the entire Old Testament sounds like a children's book to me. I think too logical. I'm sorry if some people are offended, but I think religion was just an old theory of the Universe.

I added this post to the topic, very good points (:

You can believe in whatever you believe in, you can't change everyone's' mind. Everyone has a different view on things, some may like, others may not...that's how the world goes.

I'm not trying to change anyone's minds. This is my opinion, I've stated that many times. I am being respectful and listening to others' views on the matter.

My belief.
The main idea and main concern of mine was to basically parallel the 2 time periods of being critisized and all the open minded people in the world's present day life and the time period of Jesus' life and show how similar they are. I wanted to highlight the hypocrisy and hold a mirror up to all the self righteous, Holier-than-thou people and show them how full of shit they are. We have our own beliefs and we aren't afraid to speak out about them, We are not satanists, We have a positive message towards finding self-worth and inner peace, We don't discriminate against ANYONE regardless of the way they look, their faith, sexuality, or race, and believe it or not, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Jesus Christ. Yet despite all these very moral and positive vibes, we are still constantly ripped apart for being who we are. Sounds really similar to what happened to the man the people that criticize us put all their faith in. The difference between myself and Jesus is that he was trying to convince people to believe in him and a higher power (God) to find salvation... Whereas *I'M* trying to convince people to believe in themselves. God does not control your life, YOU do.

My friends and I are 100% completely aware that NOT ALL Christians or followers of any religion are close minded and do the terrible things they do ( say ur going to hell or whatever they have told you thats crazy to put you down for not believing in there faith). I've met SO many awesome people in my travels that are Christians etc.. and regardless of whether they like me or not, they still know how to keep an open mind and be respectful. I don't want anyone reading this to feel like they should be angry towards every person of any faith, or that we are attacking their faith directly. The is very plainly written about the people who abuse Gods name by using it to profit or cause harm to others emotionally or physically, but it's even more importantly written as a call to arms to ANY person in this world to come stand together to fight the ignorance that halts the progression of mankind. Hate me for that, I f****** dare you.

Think of it this way.....God created us and put us through a test (which is life) and based on our actions in life he decides whether we are worthy of going to his kingdom (Heaven).
I also believe that God doesnt intervene with all the bad things in the world because he wants us the sort them out our selves which im presuming is part of this 'Test'.

I can understand where you are coming from with that, and that is a very good way of thinking about it. That makes more sense than a lot of stuff that religious organizations say now-a-days. But I still can't and won't grasp the idea of a man being able to develop thousands of species and a world for them.

@Very It isn't a man creating anything, or anyone. It is God, an omnipotent being if you will, creating man as well as everything else in this universe. A man making all of this would make no sense, and sounds a bit more like Greek mythology.

@ChampionDzn I agree with you wholeheartedly.

To everyone else, it seems like you all see two paths;one being religion and God, the other being science. To this, I say that they can coexist. The Bible itself says God is not the enemy of science, but rather that God and science exist together in harmony.

That said, humans are humans. We don't know everything. Sometimes we can be prideful and think we do, but we don't. As hard as it is to accept, you have to realize that a vast majority of science is based on theories before you can use science as alleged evidence that God does not exist. For instance, look at neutrinos. One discovery made us rethink everything we thought we know about modern physics. We all need to stop looking at what we think we know, and rethink what we don't know.

I realize that some of you will disagree with me and make angry posts reassuring that, but I hope my point got through to at least some of you.

Damn, very good input, determining whether to put that in the topic or not..

Good input, I like that you are arguing because that means you read and understood what I was trying to say (: and I can see what you are trying to say, and in aspects I agree, but in others I don't

I think religion is ridiculous. It's 2012 and people still believe in that invisible jewish man, a book that contradicts itself and the belief of a "God" helping you get through your day.

It especially annoys me when people tell someone else "You have a God given talent." No, God didn't give him talent. He didn't get lucky and have a God grant him his skills. The kid worked hard, practiced over and over again until he became passionate and caring for his work, God didn't help him. How dare you tell the kid he got lucky; give him credit for doing something a lot of people can't do.

Edit: I don't hate Christians or Muslims, honestly. I don't like how they try to spread their religions and shove it down other people's throats.
