Well compared to other instrumental music it is significantly less time consuming. If you want to to get good at writing songs on guitar you will literally have to pracitce, study music, and learn music theory over the course of several years. And you can still be playing guitar for 5 years and not be able to write a good song.

I'm not saying dubstep is bad in any way just saying you can learn how to make it faster than learning to play a physical instrument.

You may think that even the best quality dubstep is trash, but in my opinion it isn't. Each song is different and has awesome drops that bake your body feel awesome. Songs with lyrics are appealing because the have meaning and send a message sometimes, but some people appreciate the sounds of electronic music sometimes. I listen to dubstep in small doses because it does get sort of repetitive.

I am going to break this down step by step to explain my opinion compared to yours.

Dubstep is trash:
Well someone could easily say the same thing about other types of music, it is entirely up to you what you like, its your opinion.

Dubstep is just random noises:
You are wrong here. Dubstep takes musical theory and talent to make, not just random objects and noise. You still have to make melodies, beats, breakdowns, build-ups, and other parts match up so that they can work with each other to make a song. Your opinion basically says that you have to have a "real" instrument to have good music. Just to let you know, a computer is just as much of an instrument as any other and it can take years of practice to make a good quality tune, just like it can take years to master a guitar or piano. Music composition takes much skill to do. Most dubstep artists can play "real" instruments as well, for example I can play the piano.

Dubstep has no meaning:
Meaning can be defined as anything, just because the song has no lyrics doesn't mean it has no meaning to it. Meaning can be inspiration, or a message the song is trying to convey through its instrumentals. Look at classical tunes, they have a whole lot of meaning within them, and they don't have lyrics. Words don't define meaning.

It's all opinion. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's trash. I think most music today is trash, when I turn on the radio all I hear is people "singing" about partying and drugs. I like listening to a good beat. Classical music didn't have lyrics, and some people still like that. I'm sorry, but your rant is about opinions and hipsters.

Because today's dubstep isn't like it was before where you would chill and the vibrant and soothing basslines. Try listening to diffrent artists like Mala,Loefah,DJG,Kromestar,Digital Mystics. Your probably used to Screamo it's a bunch of homo's in my opinion.

I'm not weird for one, and I like it for a change. I listen to literally every music from pop to metal, I like anything.
I had a softspot for Dubstep a few months ago used to listen to it non stop!
It's good to listen to in my opinion.. It's just a matter of opinion really.

Ahhh the good ol' provincial view on things. Sir, you can not say anything because like you said, you have not played dubstep. My step brother is a producer and I am a DJ (club mixing) the actuall process of making a song takes days-weeks. My step brother and his partner has been working on a song (dunes) for two weeks now. As for your ignorance to the subject, you clearly have not listened to anything but skrillex (which isn't even dubstep) so you have not heard dubstep with lyrics. True dubstep is full of ambient noises, drums, bass, electric guitar, jungle instruments, ect. I would recommend actually knowing what your talking about before voicing your invalid discussion on a forum. I have been heavily into the dubstep scene since '04, and the only hipster part of it is skrillex and hipsters have already dropped dubstep as their thing because they think it's too mainstream. I don't think you understand that dubstep in the UK isn't just a fad, it's a life style. Most radio stations are EDM stations, and that is not mainstream it's just the music of the UK. I used to listen to metal and "screamo" along with rock music, since the day I heard Rusko I fell in love. So just in case you thought I had no taste in music, I listen to everything; just EDM more so than anything else. If you listen to REAL dubstep and don't like it then fine it's your life, I can't make you like it. But until you listen to REAL dubstep, please refrain from posting your ignorant opinions.
