Zir wrote I've noticed a lot of talk on the shooting in the theater in Aurora, Colorado. And from what I've seen most people are saying "this is why fire arms need to be illegal". Well here's my take.i can not agree with you more man anti-gun people are total retards in my eyes.
As a Citizen of the United States of America I have the right to bear arms.
Taking fire arms away from LAW ABIDING citizens does not take them away from those who do not abide by the law. Otherwise known as criminals.
Criminals usually have bad intentions, and when only criminals have guns and you can't defend yourself from an attacker then you DIE.
If someone in that movie theater was armed besides the man who killed those 12 people then I guarantee you that not nearly as many people would have been killed.

Did he also have armor for his arms and legs, too? Find the weakness and take him down.
UK is also a smaller country, not a lot of room to move or hide. The US is a lot bigger and if we did have gun restrictions people would still get them. You can also forget about getting the guns from rednecks and back country hillbillies. I live in the south so I know how these people feel about this. More gun laws are just going to make things worse. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. You can say that is what they are made for, but they are for protection and hunting. They have the power to kill people, but they are designed to take people down. You can shoot them in the arms and legs to take them down. A lot of people use theirs to hunt, which it wouldn't be right taking their guns away. Yes, my brother actually hunts with his AR-15. You can't buy an automatic around here so I don't see where it being an assualt rifle is much different than a pistol or hunting rifle. I will be getting a gun in the future and it will be for protection, plus I just like them.

No, guns really do kill people. In the wrong hands they kill the wrong people.
and to hunt? what age do you live in? killing animals for the fun? no one in the US needs a gun, or to hunt, its just uncivilsed savagry, there is plenty of food around you so why would you need to hunt? People in the UK do have guns, but there are VERY strict laws and guidlines that stop most getting one. which is why gun crime is alot less of an issue here. if guns were outlawed in the us, or at least handguns, aussault rifles and smg's it would make a hell of a difference for the better. Oh and btw, bigger the gun=smaller the guy behind it. Real men, DONT NEED GUNS.

You really REALLY don't know southern United States. People hunt around here for food. It saves money, and you can't just go to the store an buy deer meat. Hunting is a way of life around these parts, and moreso with the woody parts. There are some people around here that get their own food. That's not savage. These people, including my brother, eat what they kill. It's the heart of the person that makes them big or small, not the gun size. I could have a 50 calibur sniper rifle, doesn't mean I would shoot a living thing with it. That one man made his choice, which was the wrong one. My brother has more guns than him and has never done anything like that. He is a very good person so I don't know where you get that bigger the gun, smaller the person. Real men know when to pull the trigger and when to hold their fire. Let's say guns were banned, I can still get robbed and killed by a knife weilding lunatic. I would like to have a gun to stop said criminal before I, or others, get hurt. It has nothing to do with guns, but it has everything with the people behind the gun.

I am a firm believer that you have the right to own a weapon to defend yourself and that it is not the gun that can be evil, it is the operator.
HOWEVER, it is far too easy to get your hands on high caliber weapons legally. People who buy those weapons should be more thoroughly background checked for criminal records, mental health issues, etc.
The process should be as complicated as it is to adopt a baby.

And this is something I am willing to agree with. You should be able to have weapons but it should be harder to obtain the stronger kind, and even the weaker kinds to some degree.

It was designed by americans

The weapon used in the shooting, the assault machine gun known as the ar15 (stands for "Apfel Reich" in German which translates to "baby killer" in English), was specifically designed by the Nazis to mow down infants with ease, however even Hitler found it a weapon too evil to arm his troops with, and exiled the design and its creator from Germany, never to return. The design was then bought by the communist and convicted pedophile Eugene Stoner, who added capabilities such as the ability to take assault drum clips capable of holding up to 200 heat seeking 30mm shells or 50 small nuclear warheads capable of levelling 12 kindergartens at once.

I live in Canada and me and my father hunt, we don't shoot animals and just leave them there, we take them and eat them.

You don't understand the fact that bullet proof vests aren't exactly "bullet proof". My dad served in the army, and he owns a bullet proof vest. Usually they only protect against 1 shot until they shatter.
