I agree with you 100%. Just because someone has a gas mask on or body armor doesn't mean he's invincible. Bullet's would have easily penetrated his armor. And lives would have been saved.

Also to anyone else who disagrees. The reason our founding fathers in America gave us the right to bear arms was to protect against a tyrannic government. Which in the direction our country is headed now, would be very possible to have a tyrannic government. Our rights are getting taken away year by year. And people are wiping their a** with the constitution.

Also to you british people out there, the UKs Gun Crimes are sharply increasing. More reason to protect yourself.

Guns are not evil themselves. However the operator can be. And we need people to stop those. Cops can't be everywhere 24/7 but we can.

I own an arsenal upwards of 50 fire arms. Why? Because I enjoy using them for recreation and it's just fun to go shooting with buddies. Also because I want to be able to defend myself in case of emergency.

Exactly my point. Sometimes even just the sight of a weapon will scare intruders or criminals away.

Very true. Once you illegalize something such as firearms then the only people that will have them are criminals. Which means that the law abiding citizens won't, and they would be unarmed and unable to defend themselves from criminals.

Take Guns away from law abiding citizens mean your taking always there means of self defense from criminals who obtain the guns illegally and it violates the 2nd amendment which is the right to bare arms

Guns are designed to do one thing: KILL if anyone can get a hold of a gun, anyone can go on a killing spree which is why the US had such a high murder rate. your "right" to bear arms, is BS. if you didnt have so many arms in the first place, you wouldnt 'need' so many guns for 'protection'
Look at the UK and australia, where gun laws are stringent and you cant just go out to a gun store and pick up an assault rifle. How many people do you see going on rampages with them. how many people die from gunshot wounds each year? few to none compared to the US.
You are stupid, guns dont kill people, people kill people. Guns are just a tool. I shoot guns in a lot of my free time, been doing it since i was 6, im amlost 16. MY grandfather was a famous gunsmith in th e south east coast of the US. Please dont say guns kill people because that makes you look like a complete retard.

I've noticed a lot of talk on the shooting in the theater in Aurora, Colorado. And from what I've seen most people are saying "this is why fire arms need to be illegal". Well here's my take.

As a Citizen of the United States of America I have the right to bear arms.
Taking fire arms away from LAW ABIDING citizens does not take them away from those who do not abide by the law. Otherwise known as criminals.
Criminals usually have bad intentions, and when only criminals have guns and you can't defend yourself from an attacker then you DIE.

If someone in that movie theater was armed besides the man who killed those 12 people then I guarantee you that not nearly as many people would have been killed.
Maybe if you read about what happened you would now he had a gas mask, riot helmet, and bullet proof vest and so on.... if someone had a dinky little pistol while he has a machine gun what do you think is gunna happen?

Did he also have armor for his arms and legs, too? Find the weakness and take him down.

UK is also a smaller country, not a lot of room to move or hide. The US is a lot bigger and if we did have gun restrictions people would still get them. You can also forget about getting the guns from rednecks and back country hillbillies. I live in the south so I know how these people feel about this. More gun laws are just going to make things worse. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. You can say that is what they are made for, but they are for protection and hunting. They have the power to kill people, but they are designed to take people down. You can shoot them in the arms and legs to take them down. A lot of people use theirs to hunt, which it wouldn't be right taking their guns away. Yes, my brother actually hunts with his AR-15. You can't buy an automatic around here so I don't see where it being an assualt rifle is much different than a pistol or hunting rifle. I will be getting a gun in the future and it will be for protection, plus I just like them.

No, guns really do kill people. In the wrong hands they kill the wrong people.
and to hunt? what age do you live in? killing animals for the fun? no one in the US needs a gun, or to hunt, its just uncivilsed savagry, there is plenty of food around you so why would you need to hunt? People in the UK do have guns, but there are VERY strict laws and guidlines that stop most getting one. which is why gun crime is alot less of an issue here. if guns were outlawed in the us, or at least handguns, aussault rifles and smg's it would make a hell of a difference for the better. Oh and btw, bigger the gun=smaller the guy behind it. Real men, DONT NEED GUNS.

You really REALLY don't know southern United States. People hunt around here for food. It saves money, and you can't just go to the store an buy deer meat. Hunting is a way of life around these parts, and moreso with the woody parts. There are some people around here that get their own food. That's not savage. These people, including my brother, eat what they kill. It's the heart of the person that makes them big or small, not the gun size. I could have a 50 calibur sniper rifle, doesn't mean I would shoot a living thing with it. That one man made his choice, which was the wrong one. My brother has more guns than him and has never done anything like that. He is a very good person so I don't know where you get that bigger the gun, smaller the person. Real men know when to pull the trigger and when to hold their fire. Let's say guns were banned, I can still get robbed and killed by a knife weilding lunatic. I would like to have a gun to stop said criminal before I, or others, get hurt. It has nothing to do with guns, but it has everything with the people behind the gun.
You have posted probably the smartest thing on this thread. People that hunt 99% of the time take and eat what they kill. You can not go to a super market and bye deer meat because the FDA doesnt approve of it. I love deer meat, I wound eat it over beef/chicken/pork ANY day. If its cooked right its the best thing you'll probably ever taste. Also since my family has been using guns forever we own around a good 150-200 pistols/rifles/shotguns and cannons. But have we ever killed someone? Nope, we use them to have fun and its fun to blow whatever we can find around the house up. Also to the people who say guns kill people think about it, is a gun going to wake up in the middle of the night and randomly decide to shoot someone without someone wielding it? Not it isnt.

Exactly. I live in Alaska so there's plenty of good hunting which is another reason for guns.

The day that our second amendment right is taken away is the day that I will become an outlaw. And I will do everything that I can to protect myself from our countries corrupt government.

My family and I have an arsenal of 50+ semi automatic pistols and rifles. Have I or anyone in my family ever killed someone or committed a crime with one? No. I've been shooting ever since I was 5. I started out with a Colt .22, and I'm now 14.
