Check to see if the files are corrupt after that uninstall all the drivers for it and any software that was related with it and just start over if that doesnt work check the pins inside the cord every so often you will get a pin that pops out of place and crosses with another and can cause it to short out or just plain out not work.

if your pc doesn"t recognise it,it most probaly will be that you will have to update the drivers.on vista ,control panel-system devices-bus controler-and check what it says.when you plug anything into a pc usb it goes through these so your problem may be there. 8)

its fine i managed to sort it i threw the cable out.
ripper my wii external usb drive apart and popped the usb to sata connector out of it and smacked it into the xbox Hd plugeed into the pc and windows xp recognised it straight away in xplorer360 now messing with modded l4d2

Try a different computer maybe? Or maybe the transfer cable is damaged. As the person said above me, turn uac off, and it might work.

Run the program as Administrator

Right click and click run as the Adminstrator
