If you already have a 560, you'll get the best performance for the least amount of money by adding a second 560. If you have neither, it's best to get the 660 Ti.

At about what price in USD do you stop having to make compromises for a gaming PC?

Define compromises. I never relent and include a bad component, if that's what you mean. I always get you the best for the price.

This will play Skyrim perfectly maxed. Great all around, but I compromised on the keyboard simply because Scan carried no good budget boards right now. 8GB RAM, a great PSU that will allow for upgrades, an mobo with SATA III and USB 3 that will be in stock when you buy, 500 GB of storage at 7200 RPM, the i3 that's perfect for Skyrim, and a 23" monitor (forget 20"). Great stuff!

Ok i like most things just not the keyboard, mouse case and hdd could the hdd be 2.0? And dont worry about the key board and mouse :0
Usually I'd include the Rosewill RK-800G or Sidewinder X4, but neither are available. I wouldn't have been able to justify a $50 keyboard for this budget either.
The Xornet is top of the line. If you don't like it, you could get the Logitech G400 for a bit more.
You could switch the case to the Zalman Z9 if you want.
What do you mean by 2.0? 2 TB?

I bought a PC about a month ago, and I love it. (Thanks to your sticky. ) Anyways, it wasn't the best PC ever, a very strict budget. I really want to upgrade in the future, but what should I do? Should I buy all the upgrades at the same time, or one by one? For example, instead of making one big purchase at the end of the year, should I make multiple purchases over the course of 4 months? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
