Cawnah wrote Hey. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I know r00t_b33r and Generation know their stuff.

I have a total noob question. I'm planning on using the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 for my next build because I like my current ASRock motherboard, and it's pretty cheap. My question is, will I be able to space out my two GTX 670's, or will I need to buy a more expensive motherboard for that? I heard it can make a huge difference in temps if you space them out. It looks like I can just judging from the pictures, but I want to be completely sure.

Thanks.

There is plenty of space for SLI GTX 670's or another set of dual width cards.
If you go to newegg and look at the picture of the motherboard (I would screenshot it but Gyazo is not uploading it ) you can see there is the first PCIe 3.0 slot then there is a space and then a PCI slot before the next PCIe 3.0 even appears (if that makes sense?)

Yeah I saw that, but I was worried maybe something would be wrong with doing that. I was mostly sure, just wanted to be 100% sure. Thanks for the help.

One other thing. Say I eventually want to get a triple monitor setup. Would two 670 FTW 2GB's be fine, or should I get something else like a 4GB version? I heard triple monitors use up a lot of VRAM.

No need for an i5 here, it's a waste of money. So is 8GB RAM, to be honest, but it's cheap enough to be forgivable. The 6850 will run games like those perfectly and I threw in a super high-quality monitor to make everything so much better for you. Concentrating on what matters and whatnot! Great rig for the price.

Hey root. I decided to copy this build, could you add a hard drive for it? 500GB as cheap as possible.

I completely goofed, I knew I forgot something. I can alter the build to keep it under budget if you want.

Guru3D nailed it when they reviewed a 4GB 680.

Thanks. Do you have any recommendations for which monitors or GPU's I should use if I want a triple monitor setup?

Before you decide on anything, would you rather have a single super high-res monitor? You won't have to deal with bezels, it will be cheaper, and it can be of higher quality. It will also be easier on the graphics card.

That sounds better, so I guess I would
