Yes you can. You can't multiply 2a by 3b because they are not like terms but 2a can multiply with 3. Go back to Year 8 Algebra before misleading someone.

you can't multiply 3 x 2a

You can imagine it as 3(2a) and times every thing inside the brackets by what is out side of them, hope I helped.
