That doesn't mean anything.
Then UK's crime rate is higher than the US.

You probably had around 35 gun deaths versus the US 11K.
But 70 percent of gun murders are by gangs that get their guns illegally.
And that means when you take away guns from the civillians gangs and criminals will
still have guns.
Banning guns is not a good solution.

Maybe worrying about mental health more, as the US did a couple years ago.

Hi, I just thought I should explain to you exactly why banning guns would make things worse. People who get guns to go on mass shootings, do not typically do it legitimately. Furthermore, if we can not secure our borders to keep immigrants and illegal drugs out of the country, what makes you think we can keep guns out of the Country? The fact is, criminals would never obey the law. They are criminals. If we made guns illegal, it would be much harder for a criminal to obtain a gun, as they would have to retrieve one by illegal means. This would definitely lower the chances of a shooting.

I would like to at least see automatic guns and large-clip modifications banned.

Here are two reasons we should ban guns (or just automatic guns) anywhere.

- America is the country whose gun/inhabitants is the highest in the world, and its crime/violence rate is by far much higher than anywhere else except maybe countries like Afghanistan or Congo. There is a clear correlation

- Who needs guns? I can rely on an efficient police force, therefore I don't need to rely on a gun to protect myself. Owning guns is admitting that the police in your area sucks.

I think that to own a gun, you should have an university degree. That would be similar to banning guns, since no intelligent person feels the need to prove its virility by owning a big gun.

LET ME PUT MY 2 CENTS IN. First off banning guns would do nothing to stop public shootings. NOT EVEN LOWER IT. Reason: It is a proven fact that it is 60% MORE EASIER to buy a gun Illegally so your statement right there is invalid.

Do you have any clue what you're saying there? Banning firearms would decrease public shootings in America significantly without a doubt. Thought it might be easier to purchase guns illegally, how many people do you know sells firearms illegally, compared to stores and services that sell and distribute firearms?

There sad times when they happen, but they won't disappear no matter what you do. Everybody blames the guns not the people. Next they could bring a kitchen knife and stab people. You going to ban them?

Well, it's painfully obvious that it will never go away. There will always be things like this, but banning firearms would drastically reduce it. I never said it would completely stop them, I said "Banning firearms would decrease public shootings in America significantly without a doubt.".

I doubt it.
Criminals and gang bangers will still have guns,
and then they will notice regular americans dont have guns.
The crime rate will probably sky rocket, and you wont be able to protect your loved ones.

We shouldn't have too, it is the people using the guns. If we ban guns, the would be unconstitutional and would break the 2nd Amendment of the constitution. We as Americans have the right to Bear Arms.
