I've had my 360 for about 2 years, and have been going on live everyday since.
Just today when I tried to play MW2 on XBL, it said can't connect to Xbox Live.
It worked yesterday with no issues, but today it won't at all. I tried resetting my modem, I tried manually assigning the IP, and I've just about every trouble shooting step there is.
My question is, is it possible the ethernet port has gone out/stopped working?
I've never heard of anyone's 360 not being able to go on live because of a malfunctioning ethernet port, but this is as good a place as any to ask.

Well my connection works perfect, because going on the internet on my PC is A++
Also I've tried about 4 different ethernet cables.

I get the one saying there's an issue with my network, and need to reset my modem/router or turn it off for 30 seconds.
After I proceed it says something about resetting my MAC address and that my modem/router isn't assigning an IP address.

I have seen 2 people with your problem. The first guy was banned from IW servers (MW2 and CoD4) and everytime he started up one of those two games he would get disconnected. The second dude said he just rebooted his modem or something and it suddenly started working. Just give it sometime and it might let you back on, if not you might have gotten banned. Did you do any mods? (10th prestige, unlock all, leaderboards, ect)

I've been in the lobbies, but not modded my GT, or hosted any lobbies myself.
Plus, it's not when I go to play a CoD game, now I turn my xbox on and it says "q528p signed in" instead of "q528p signed in to xbox live".
So now my console doesn't connect at all, and I haven't recieved any notification of being banned/suspended.

Like, what's the full error message? Almost all the errors tell you to reset your modem.
