Ok so i am buying my first graphics card and i am looking for either an AMD 7770 or 7850 or equivalent in the Nvidia Range!

Everything you need to know about my pc:
Running Windows 7
i5 3570k Processor
Msi Z77A G43 Motherboard
XFX Pro 550W PSU

Prices range around 100-150Pounds!

The 7850 is arguably the best bang-for-your-buck card out there because it overclocks like a beast. This one is just over-budget, but it's worth it to get the better cooler and extra gigabyte of VRAM.

Ok so my friend just told me that i may need an external power supply? is this true? and will it fit my motherboard?

External power supply? You don't need anything outside of the case, if that's what you mean. And it's a regular ATX power supply, so yes, it will work with all your hardware.

No, you do not, admittingly, 550w is abit low, but it should still be fine if you have the correct connectors, yes it will fit your motherboard
