Gameplay Tips From The Official Xbox Magazine

The game isn't out yet, but the Official Xbox Magazine is teasing us with some multiplayer tips:
Racking up CoD Points: Pick only contracts that you know you can complete and redo them once they are available again.

Use new tricks: "Radiation" map has big doors that can be opened/closed by pressing a button; they force players to take different routes. "Launch" map has a huge rocket that takes off, so in the Search and Destroy gamemode plant the bomb when the rocket is about to launch; the rocket's exhaust will prevent the enemy from getting to the bomb for 10-15 seconds.

Defence loadout: Use the jammer, it will blackout the enemy radar; the enemy won't know what's happening around them.

Offence loadout: Use the RPK Light Machine Gun, it's extremely effective.

Mock the weak: Humiliate people by using a stun grenade to slow them down, after that throw a Tomahawk at them.
The OXM will be in stores this week and has more tips on their six-page guide to the game.

PC: Minimum System Requirements Revealed

irect2Drive has revealed the minimum system requirements that you will need to play Black Ops on your PC. These aren't "official", but should be legit since it's from D2D:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
The requirements have gone up since Modern Warfare 2. Your PC now needs to have a two/three core processor, MW2 only needed one. Memory requirements have gone up from 1GB to 2GB and you will also need a better graphics card. (Or you could buy a Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3)

Call of Duty Black Ops: Hardened Pro Perk revealed

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
The much hyped and anticipated details about the Hardened Pro Perk of Call of Duty: Black Op has finally been revealed via this image.
Although, the text is very vague in the image, our designers has figured out what exactly it reads! Find out below -

It reads -
Hardened Pro
Bullets penetrate better.
-Bullets do extra damage to aircrafts and turrets.
Reduced flinch when you are shot.

There you go, its finally out of the bag, good perk we must say but considering its supposed to be best perk in the game, we didnt expect anything less from it.

Rumor: Activison to Charge for a YouTube Type Service
With the recent backlash coming from Activison in regards to Black Ops Beta videos, Pixel Enemy did a little digging and have come up with two different theories as to why Activison have pulled all Call of Duty: Black Ops videos from the internet.

Its been rumored before that Activison would charge a subscription fee for future Call of Duty games, however Activison has always denied this claim. Could this be the subscription service that analysts such as Michael Patcher were talking about?

Are Activison getting ready to launch a Bungie Pro type of service or are they just pissed that the Black Ops footage was posted? Jay and Mark breakdown each scenario and come up with a conclusion. What do you guys think?

At least three DLCs already planned for COD: BlackOps

Judging by a leaked image it seems that at least three DLCs have already been planned for Treyarchs upcoming FPS, COD: BlackOps, due November 9, 2010 for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Call of Duty Black Ops will have a feature similar to Call Signs however players will be given even more customization with these. Now going by the name of Playercards it gives the player the chance to customize the title itself adding layers of pictures so each player can expect to have a very unique Playercard.

The Below Images have been leaked early, so enjoy and I will update

Most expensive game merch ever detailed

US car manufacturer Chrysler Group has revealed further details of the special edition Call of Duty: Black Ops Jeep that it announced last month.

The vehicle, a black Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with Call of Duty graphics on the exterior and new tail lamp guards, will be available next month, with prices ranging from $30,625 to $33,500.

No word yet on whether Chrysler plan to throw in a copy of the game too.

As way of an explanation, Activision exec Brad Jakeman got out his marketing-speak thesaurus.

"This is a dynamic and fully integrated partnership that brings together two iconic brands across a full array of consumer touch-points.

"From the beginning our teams worked together to make this a truly creative partnership that added to the consumer experience of both the Jeep and Call of Duty: Black Ops brands."

Call of Duty: Black Ops developer Treyarch got roped into the gregarious merchandising stunt too.

"Our work with the Jeep team focused around using the Jeep Wrangler in our levels, and gameplay experiences, and translating the style and look of the vehicle in Black Ops to the Jeep on the showroom floor that our fans can own," studio head Mark Lamia explained.

Hands up if you intend to be one of those fans?

Call of Duty: Black Ops sneaks onto DS, PC, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 from 9th November.

Activision's solution to Black Ops piracy

Activision and Treyarch are poised with a problem right now. Call of Duty: Black Ops has leaked online and gamers will be downloading the title very shortly. Though leaks are nothing new to the industry, when a leak of a AAA title occurs, the publisher and developer quickly try to find the source of the leak and patch it before any harm can be done. Last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was leaked early and the problem was taken care of with the cooperation of police and private instigators. Currently, Treyarchs community manager, John Olin, is making an effort to stop the leak but through a means that is less than aggressive: negotiation -- reported via HookedGamers.

Pirates to the game industry can be devastating to sales, profits, and can lead companies hurting at the end of the day when a game sells far fewer copies than projected thanks to a massive leak. The PSP has suffered gravely from this as many big releases are pirated and gamers download the file opposed to buying the game. The Xbox 360 has had its fair share of pirated game release and some of those titles have turned out less than stellar sale performances.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops now the latest victim, what is Activisions and Treyarchs best move to counter the pirates? Is negotiating the best means at the current time to combat them or can they do other measures to secure the title a strong retail launch and not be hurt by pirated versions of the game. Like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, having police and private investigators take on the assignment may prove beneficial, but should a more extreme course of action be conducted? The most prevalent options open to Activision are to either find the source of the leak online and take it down, find those responsible for it and either press charges against them for damages to sales the game may endure, or, possibly, release the game early and stop the leak by making the game massively available to the people before the scheduled launch. The latter option may sound like the best idea, but release dates are carefully chosen for a number of reasons and with a release as big as Call of Duty: Black Ops, the extra time used from now to release is the ensure the game has sufficient copies to meet the incredible demand the game will see day one.

Though those are only a few options that can be done to counter the leak, but is Activision and Treyarch making the best decision to counter them through negotiation or should they go with something stronger? What do you feel needs to be done against this issue and what would be the best means in doing so?
