I dont really know too much about pc's so, I think im just going to go with the build r00t put together. lol
Also, I plan on locking my FPS when recording. so its NBD, i just want to be able to get 30 steadily while recording.

Ah ok nevermind lol. Sounds good.

A "cheapy" $61 motherboard that will do all that's necessary. You could spend $200 on a motherboard for this build, but nothing would be gained. If you want to overclock with AMD, you'll need to buy an aftermarket heatsink and a more expensive motherboard. The 4430 will destroy anything from AMD in tasks that can make use of four or fewer cores, which are most of them.

OP, it should be able to record 1080p at 30 FPS pretty easily. 720p no problem at all.

Sounds good! Thanks for all of your help r00t, and I will be sure to *try* and post a build thread. Although, I dont have a very good camera. So Potato quality cell phone pics will have to do.

The only thing that 4430 has over an FX 6350 is single core performance lol, and not by much. I was suggesting another option that came with a better motherboard and CPU but I assumed he knew a little about PC's. Sorry OP.

Which benchmarks are you looking at?

Granted the max turbo of the 4430 is 600 MHz less than the 4670K and the max of the 6350 is 100 MHz higher than the 6300, but the point is still valid.

LOL. Obviously the 4670k will win that, its a monster and its $130 more. Here's the real fight: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Ask yourself if $50 extra is worth a 1-3 FPS increase

Now you've got my attention... lol
But, I still dont know what i would have to do to switch to AMD, different MOBO, right?

Yup thats it, i can reccomend the motherboard im using right now, it's currently $70. Take that extra 50 and get yourself a better GPU. If you want ill help you, PM me.

The CPUBoss stats mean nothing... It's like the site is geared toward people that don't actually know what's going on. They use Passmark as the only benchmark?

The 4670K is a 4430 with a higher base and turbo clock. If you raised the turbo clock on a 4430 to the same as a 4670K, it would perform identically albeit with higher temps due to speed binning. Same with the 6350, it's a 6300 with a higher base/turbo clock. Of course they can be compared.

Cut the differences in scores in half and the 6350 is still destroyed by the 4430. If you want a fair fight, compare it to the 8320, and it's still blown out of the water with far less power consumption.

Again, cut the difference in half to make up for the lower base/turbo clocks of the 4430.

OP, if you want a cheaper CPU, yes, I'd 100% recommend the 6350, but it's by no means better than the 4430. Neither is AM3+ a better platform after Intel's socket refresh.

If you go with the 6350, I'd recommend:

EDIT: You can also get a nice deal in a combo with the 6350 and one of Cooler Master's TPC series coolers. They're very good.

Well, how good is AMD on durability, I mean if its going to die out a year sooner than the Intel, Ill go with the latter.
