This is ridiculous. This can not be legal. Especially taking control of someone of the school grounds. This can't be true...

My high school allows us to use our phones whenever we want. Only if the teacher allows it though.

If you are out of the schools grounds then they cannot do this. Again its teachers trying to throw there weight around acting "big" knowing that you cannot fight back. Your parents/guardian would be the best people to talk to about this.

Very good point. Explain this to your parents. I'm sure they would understand if they are responsible enough.

No. I was that kid in school that teachers would leave alone. They tried confiscating my drink that I brought in after a doctors appointment, I told them to give me the 5$ back then.

They legally can't do anything outside of school, just refuse unless you are on school grounds.

Wow! How do you even cope with this? Have you reported this? Try to get a group of you to complain? Grow a group?

There is no reason to have mobile phones/devices at school because it is a place of learning not a place to sit in chatrooms during class. However the school cannot legally remove your belongings if you are out of the school property and if they try to then you can report them to the police but ONLY if you are out of the school property that includes any borderline surrounding the school property.

As far as clothing is concerned you must obey the rules the school lays down with regard to their policies .

I think most people use them on breaks. I agree on not using them in class. Especially the girls. They go on their phone when the know they shouldn't but yet when they get caught they expect them to pat them on the back. Pay the consequences. Distracting the class and you will just fall behind.

I'm not sure if you attempted to be sarcastic and failed, or I completely missed your point because there wasn't one.

That was a small example, I'm not obligated to write down all of my experiences throughout 12 years of school to make you feel like I actually was doing what was called for. I was a bad kid, I got suspended enough to miss 70+ days of school, I wouldn't recommend anyone behaving like I did in high school, it messed up my life.

Simply put, the district I went to school is a suburb outside of a large city. They cracked down on EVERYTHING because they tried sorting out any potential problems.
Ex:
Suspensions for a hood on in the winter
Phones confiscated for weeks
Hats taken for the whole year
Getting involved in matters that happened at students houses
Certain colors banned (Red, Blue, etc.) in excessive appearance. You would get in trouble for it.
