Cristiano is a great guy. He's a fantastic footballer. I think Messi always looks sad.

Gayarch wrote At the moment Ronaldo is the best in the world without a doubt.
Appearances for Real Madrid: 216
Goals For Real Madrid: 225
Messi and Ribery goals in 2013: 64
Cristiano Ronaldo goals in 2013: 66 (55 apps)
If Ronaldo doesn't win the Ballan D'Or this year he'll never win it again.
I agree with you there, Ronaldo is astonishing and is probably the best player in the world at the moment, but for me, Messi just tops it because of all the records he has broken

Krome-OG wrote Ribery better then both.
But out of them Messi.
Ribery is number 1 at the moment yes, but I don't think he's better than Messi or Ronaldo

I am a CR7 fan since being a Man United fan, undoubtedly, Ronaldo will win the Ballon D'or this year as he has been the key factor in single handedly winning games for both RM and Portugal, a clear example of this was the Por vs Swe game. It is debated he also should have won it in 2011; the argument has a decent case. As much as I love Ronaldo and enjoy watching him play, Messi is better. Messi struck 91 goals in a calendar year, Ronaldo has been at his peak and has only hit 66 with 6 games in this calendar year to go. As we know, the Ballon D'or is a glorified world wide golden boot or Sneijder would have won it in 2010. Many people argue that since Ronaldo is a winger, it is his excuse to score less goals, but infact he plays striker sometimes and always cuts in to shoot, this rules out the goal case, since he is a winger he should be assisting right? No, since he is not a conventional winger and aims to be the primary scorer. Messi on the other hand assists more and scores more, he plays an almost free role in the final third of the pitch. Both Barca and RM are great teams and are about as strong as each other so the extraneous variable of the teams affecting can be ruled out to some degree. Either way, its clear to see that the battle is not over with a rejuvenated Ronaldo ready to end Messi's 4 year domination of the Ballon D'or. There are still a few more years left of this rivalry, if Ronaldo leads his team to a WC2014 victory which he seems capable of, he will be rated higher. The WC is where critics prosper, what separates Pele and Maradona from Ronaldo and Messi is there influence in WC victories, but that is a different story.

I'm glad you're honest, seeing as you're a Ronaldo fan but can admit Messi is better:) everyone has their own opinion:D Yes Ronaldo has reached his peak and will never re-break the goal scoring record of 91 goals in a calendar year. Also Messi still has 2 years on Ronaldo and has achieved so much more than him in his career, that's why I think Messi is the best football player to have ever stepped on the pitch;P
