True but if he messes up with one subject (which he shouldn't do if he is thinking of medicine) but if he does then he could carry on with physics and drop the subject he messed up in i.e. maths as physics is one of the entry requirements for many medical schools.
So therefore it would be preferable to take all 3 sciences and maths IMO
I can't see physics being beneficial in anyway, I'd take English language or further maths.
However like you said, chances of OP failing the chosen subjects is low. If OP want's it enough, I've no doubt that OP will succeed.
