I'll help out if you dont mind, i have owned both since launch.

I prefer the PS4 for a few reasons, the game simply look better and will continue to look better, no way around it. The Xbox One UI is awful right now and the party chat doesnt even work. Lastly the install times on XB1 can take anywhere from 10-15 minutes even offline (I have a 80 down, 20 up internet speed, thats not the problem), the PS4 gets me playing in 15 seconds to a minute.

Both consoles are good, but the PS4 is much better to me.

the mic that comes with the system is garbage. however the ps4 supports pretty much like any mic you throw at it. you wont have a good experience with the default mic. but any of your pc, xbox 360 or ps3 mics will usually work. However, some pc mics might need a cheap splitter

In contrast to what he said, the mic that is standard with the PS4 isn't all that bad and is just what it is, a mic. It's not super quality but it will get you talking with others and the sound it clear. Talking with the default headset is fine, there is just no gizmos or gadgets to it like a turtle beach or what ever gaming headsets do.
