No, but it might be a pain removing the CPU. Also you might mess up the pins if its your first time. I'd just wait.

Ok, is it worth building the PC and waiting for the CPU then installing that or just do it all in one go?

it's all up to you whether you want to build it now or wait
do what you want
personally i'd build it now and wait for the cpu to arrive saves the hassle of doing it on the day

Yeah AM2 won't fit in a AM3 socket at all guys.

Thats different to the processor you initially said. If it is the Phenom II X4 945 which is AM3 socket, then yes it will work in a AM3+ board like you have.
When it comes to replacing that processor with your new one, you won't have to set anything else up differently.

I think the 945 is my CPU, it says AMD Model Unknown but i know its quad core and has 3ghz so im assuming its that.
