You keep telling me in the shoutbox that isn't 28.

You have got to be kidding me.

If you take the 2 main squares set out, plus the 18 (9 + 9) inside squares, you have 20.

Using the black lines Boar showed like so;

Adds an additional 8 squares to the total, making it 28. I've come to the conclusion that you are either too dumb for your own riddle, or you think that a rectangle counts as a square.

It's 72. When you take the area of one side, multiply it by 4, then multiply that by two, you get 72 squares to to the multiplication based on area which is b*h\2 but in this case you reverse it, this riddle would be reverse sycology.

The answer is 74

However mathematically it is wrong, as as the guy above showed from my image, he didn't account for all values.

Oh well.

The way I got it was simple, I realized he was counting sides instead of squares.

And I was right -

Autocorrect wrote 9*4 = 36, 36*2 = 74
