Every kid gets everything they want because there friends have got one, and if they don't get the same thing, they will most likely get bullied or they will get angry.

Yet at 18, a teenager has to make decisions that will impact their entire life and future. But I guess we should have parents make those decisions, yeah, I can imagine all of the people going into fields that they don't like because their parents made them.

But, I suppose you're right. I kind of feel guilty for violating this rule, as I did not tell my parents I could sign up for a TTG account Guess I should have asked for their permission, as it obviously was a decision I was forbidden to make on my own.

At 18 your not considered a teenager anymore, at least around where I live. I guess I should have said "Teens 13-17". And really, TTG has an age limit, so your point does not make sense. Also, you parents should be in proper control of you until you're 18. If they don't care enough about the risks and dangers that come with things like pregnancy, drugs, alcohol then the kid has not been taught right, therefore it's the parents fault. Even if you choose to do drugs, it's the parents job to catch, help and set you on the correct path, unless they don't care and are immature.

Firstly at 18, you are still a teenager, it's literally in the name- eighteen. Secondly, in the UK(not sure about other countries), you are legally an adult at the age of 16. Once you turn 16, you can do as you please and make your own decisions(but somehow aren't allowed to legally drink alcohol?). I'm 16 years old and I can move into my own flat/house if I wanted to. Granted, I don't have the money but if I did, I could do it. Also, when these teenagers are getting pregnant, it's not a planned pregnancy. The majority of the time it is a mistake, it's not as if they weren't taught about pregnancy. Youth these days are just stupid about sex and aren't very clued up on it. A lot of teenagers think that it's impossible to get pregnant the first time they have sex, which is a myth, they would know this if schools taught proper sex education. In all honesty, schools are partly(possibly mainly) to blame for teenagers getting pregnant. Well, it's also their own fault for having sex when they're not ready or not uding protection. You can't have mummy and daddy hold your hand all the time, saying that your parents should be in complete control of you until you are 18, is simply a moronic statement.

"If they don't care enough about the risks and dangers that come with things like pregnancy, drugs, alcohol"
What risks? Last time I checked, there were no risks with pregnancies? Some of the teenagers who have children are actually better parents than some of the older ones with several children who neglect them. Also, I'm pretty sure people are aware of the 'risks' with alcohol, even though there aren't many. Underage drinking is pretty stupid IMHO but the majority of people do it. Ask your parents, I bet they drank alcohol underage. A lot of peoples parents also experimented with drugs in their time. You can't simply blame the parents for they way they bring up their child. Sometimes, the parents are to blame but in most cases, that's not remotely true. I smoke and have for 2/3 years. I drink alcohol(when I'm at parties) and I have experimented with drugs. I don't blame my parents for this. The reasons behind my actions are because I wanted to try it, or I was trying to look cool in front of my friends.

The point of that remark on TTG was to show you how ridiculous saying that teenagers should not be making their own decisions. If I can't make any of my own decisions, I guess I can't even make the decision of joining TTG.

Also, it doesn't matter what it is where you live, TEENagers are from thirteen-nineteen. That's why they're called teenagers. It's not some random arbitrary name used to describe people who are under 18, it's used to describe those that have an age which ends in teen. For the record, university apps are usually done from January-April, and most teenagers when applying to universities and actually deciding their future are really 17, not 18.

Finally, is it really all the parent's fault? Why is it that one child in a family can be a nice, respectful, law-abiding member of society, but another child can grow up to be a prisoner? It's obviously not the parents fault in this scenario, as they obviously parent the same.

Its nothing to worry about if you know how to Treat your kids, Probably the parents of those kids cuss in front of their kids.

Its not the Generation, its discipline, Show your kids Right from Wrong.

Pretty simple if you ask me

Do people not understand discipline dont work on kids now and days especially if your 13 and above. You cant discipline your kid in school or even if they went to school, they make their choices even if they are discipline by their parents.
