Do i need both of these Arma 2 and DayZ or can i buy DayZ And play gamemodes like hungergames and online

The dayz mod is just a free addon for the game called "ARMA" ok? and standalone is the DayZ mod but as a full game by itself. There are no game modes. There just servers to play online and survive. I tried making this as simple as I could.

I think he means Battle Royale, if that's what you mean then go with the mod and get DayZ Commander then go from there and download it

To play the free DayZ Mod you need Arma 2: Combined Operations pack (Arma 2 and Arma Operation arrowhead)

Don't bother getting the standalone. It's worse than the mod DayZ. Too many bugs still. If you get Arma Combined Operations then the DayZ mod is free.
