Hoen wrote I'm amazed how you have a 6-7k budget and you just got your license...
I got mine in February and I'll be saving up for a year for about a 1.5k car.
It just depends on what you can afford. Maybe he has a job or his parents are contributing.
I have friends who are 16-19 and they have Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG's, Porsche 911's, Bentley's, Range Rover's and one kid that used to go to my school had an orange Lamborghini Aventador when it first came out. I go to a Private school so I tend to see fancy cars.

Id say an RX-8 but they are so bad for breaking down and stuff. Maybe look at S15's and stuff like that. Best car would probably be a 350z. You can get them for around 4-5k

I highly doubt 16-19 year olds get insured on aventadors and C63's man. Not a chance

Like what someone else said, for your first car a sports car just calls for trouble, you need to have a little bit of experience before getting in a fast car.
It calls for tickets, getting stuck in snow, bad traction in rain, and the worst possible thing: death.
With your first car you'll want to go anywhere and everywhere, and you want to get there as fast as you can, you'll want to race friends etc.
It's just not a very smart choice. But you only live once so get what you want man because you won't get this chance again.
Have fun but at the same time be safe.
Here are cars I can think of that would be in your price range:
Honda Civic
RX-8 (you'll have to get pretty lucky and you'll have to pay so much on oil because of the rotary engine.)
Ford Mustang (years 1999-2004)
If you can beg your parents to go upto 8k or 9k you can possibly be able to find a 350z, just have to look very hard.
Chevy Monte Carlo
Toyota Celica
There are some other but those are the ones I came up with in like 3 minutes.
Have fun man, just don't be stupid about it.

If you look and get lucky you can find a 350z with under 100k miles for under 10k
But this one, it has 160k but you never know if those were highway miles or city if they were highway it would be as bad.

160k for a sports car is a lot and means it's probably been driven pretty hard.
Just be smart about what you buy and you won't have any problems with it quitting on you.
