Obviously working out would make it go faster, but it's not needed.
what do you mean by maintain tho?
Set a limit and don't go over it.
Basically counting calories.
1000 calories depending on what your eating could be borderline malnutrition. Based on your weight loss goals I would say your considerably overweight? You need to know what your doing, based on your daily routine, your height, your age, your current weight. It all goes into effect on the most efficient way to lose weight. You don't want to ask people on TTG. People here are untrained and don't know what works or whats actually good for you. I suggest you talk to a nutritionist or you can PM me(This may sound hypocritical , I am a licensed nutritionist.) Also, person that eats 1000 calories a day, that is unhealthy. That far to low for your body unless you just sit on your **** all day and basically eat all super foods, which I doubt.
PM ME PLEASE!!!!!

Hmm?? 1000 calories a day is a lot of food. That s about 1-2 meals, what do you want me to eat 3-5??
Plus I don't work out, so eating less helps me. And no I'm not lacking vitamins and minerals.
And exactly like you said, it varies from person to person.

I Play Varsity Hockey for my school. I had to shed some weight and put on some muscle. I 100% Recommend [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
From this just make sure you are eating a lot. But make sure its not crap. Greens at every meal. Try to incorporate some sort of vegetable into every meal. Whether its Spinach in a morning smoothie, or broccoli at dinner.

Anyways, a way to raise your metabolism over time is by eating more often in the day, but smaller portions. Your body tries to maintain a constant flow of energy throughout the day, and long periods of time without eating could cause the body to store this energy into fat cells to sustain prolonged fasting. Eating more throughout the day and your body getting used to it will allow your body to use all of the energy from each meal you eat throughout the day.
For example, I eat about 8 meals a day (don't just jump to this if you're only eating 2-3 meals/day, it won't give your body time to adjust and it'll just store into more fat cells) but I eat smaller portions than an average meal. Also, make sure it's not junk food, try to keep it healthy. I probably drink one soda a week if that, and everything is home cooked meals unless I'm going out to a restaurant.
After your body gets used to that kind of food intake start doing small workouts, nothing major. Go for as much cardio as you can muster, but don't push yourself too hard. Instead of going full sprint on a treadmill or just out for a run try to go for as long as you can at a steady jog.
I know it's a lot to read, but that's how I try to keep myself pretty healthy. It's hard at first but then gets much easier over time.

I'm sorry, the way you say you're eating and losing that much weight in a month just doesn't seem healthy at all.

That's fine but it is.
I go to my doctor every 2 weeks anyway for check ups because I have to.
And i'm overweight and that causes me to lose more weight than people on average
You should also know I'm not trying to gain muscle mass therefore I don't consume a ton of food
What you wrote for yours reminds me of a friend who lifts weights a lot to try and get "big".

That makes a little bit more sense. But seriously I suggest you read my first post on this page, having a lower calorie count that 2000 could be potentially dangerous to your body and you may not know it yet.
At one point for some reason I just wasn't getting hungry throughout the day anymore (this was like a year ago). I started eating less and my calorie intake was around 800/day. After a few weeks of this I was literally weak. I couldn't stay awake for too long, was never energetic and never really got up much. Granted I was still in the average/borderline underweight it was probably much worse than you may get for a while, but I still knew it wasn't healthy for me.
Just trying to help. Feel free to not do it, but I'd hate to have other people experiencing the same thing I went through for weeks.

It's fine man, my friends say the same things but I have been doing this for a few months now and it's been fine. I eat the right foods to make sure I get the nutrients my body needs. But thanks for the tips anyway
