-prisonedalien wroteI've wanted to ask somebody this for a while but haven't been able to. How do you guys explain dinosaur bones, fossils and Radiometric Dating considering dinosaurs weren't in the bible?I am a Christian and if any Atheists or any other beliefs/practices are interested about knowing more about God because you might be "on the fence", then I am here for you. You can ask me anything and I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my ability. Just want to help people know God. If you want nothing to do with God, I respect your beliefs and I don't wish to bash you, but I am always praying.

Confused how this applies to the bible when dinosaurs date back many years before any human was born?

Not all Christians take the Bible literally.
Anyone who has done anything in the way of a comprehensive Bible study knows that it isn't meant to be taken literally.
There are far too many hidden meanings and messages rooted within the stories for them to have all actually happened coincidentally.

I am. I believe religion is just a way to control people. For instance, the bible tells you how to be a god person. You have to follow cherish rules and morals to go to "heaven" I think that someone created the idea of a "god" just for this reason. I am not against people that believe in religion because their heart is in the right place. But I do believe it's nothing but guidelines.

Simply asking this is indeed getting into religion.

That really doesn't surprise me.
It all depends on where you live, but there are a large majority who do take it literally.
I'm just saying that it doesn't need to explain dinosaurs because it doesn't actually state explicitly that in reality dinosaurs never existed.
The Adam and Eve creation story and genealogies might point to it, but they're more for the literary background to the story of Jesus rather than outright statements of fact.
Some take the Ken Ham route and say that Dinosaurs and Humans co-existed but... eh. Yeah. No.

No, I wouldn't say I am an Athiest. I'm by no means religious but certainly don't denounce other peoples beliefs.
