My macbook pro 2008 was working fine. But now it automatically shuts itself off. In the middle of use it just shuts off and even when I try to reboot it it shuts off again then. Why is this happening??
(I couldn't find a mac forum so I came to pc)

Is this happening while plugged in or on battery or both?

It could be a bad battery, try taking the battery out of the laptop and plug in your charger and use the computer that way. If that works, then you need to replace the battery.

Okay after a quick search of the apple forums I found a few things to try.

Try this one
Check if the "Automatic Graphic Switching" (System preferences<Energy Saver<Automatic Graphic Switching) is ticked. If it's not ticked it means that the computer uses the highest graphic settings at all times and it causes repeated kernel panics.

It's probably the battery dying/dead, logic board dying, or it is overheating and shutting itself off to protect the hardware. I would recommend scheduling an appointment at the Genius Bar (which is in the Apple store) and having them do some diagnostic tests unless you have a boot disk like TechTool to do it yourself. Also, check the system messages in Console and see if you can find a pattern.

It doesn't even try to power on without the battery
