You keep saying someone has to play more than one game as well which is just THE most illogical premise - so if a guy played I don't know lets say something big and typically "Gamery" like WoW, and he played it for 10 years - is it just because he hasn't played anything else he's not a gamer?

Also I'm not sure why it matters who calls themselves "gamers" its not like they're claiming to be bloody Mike Tyson or something - get over yourself mate

I never said the games I mentioned were pointless and immature. All I said was, they're typical games that everyone is talking about non stop despite them saying they're a gamer.

It's like going into a music store and everyone is just talking about Justin Beiber and One Direction. Would you go over and talk to them and agree it's music and good? Unless you like that, no. You'd stray away and go find other people who like other things which is was this forum was about. Practically everything is the 4 games I mentioned and usually all the same forum.

Well I did bring up the aspect of time in my very first post ( if you bothered reading and not just commenting for post count ) so to my standard, I'd class that as a gamer. Whereas if he'd played for like 2 months and barely knew anything, then no. I wouldn't class him as one.

I never once stated I was ' on a high horse' or anything. Also I never once stated I played obscure games. I'm saying, if people want to say " I'm a gamer " and I indulge them in a conversation, I'd like more than just " OMG COD OMG MINECRAFT. "

You caught me mate - a 3 year member with just over 400 posts - I obviously care about my post count I actually just felt I should post because I couldn't believe this non-sensical post, basically just screams of self-centredness if you actually care enough about who calls themselves "gamers" enough to post a thread about it

I think if anyone plays a single game for 3 months, then yes, they would definitely be considered a "gamer", then again, no one uses that term. You are the only person I've ever seen use the term "I'm a gamer".
