Yes you'll need to make sure you Power Supply inside your computer has a PCI-E power cable and they are usually 6 or 8 pin.

Edit: I don't think your Card will actually need that as it runs off the motherboard power from the PCI Express slot.
The motherboard does not provide power necessarily. It just communicates information from the pieces of hardware. The Graphics card will still need power.


Incorrect. The PCIE 16x lane can produce upto 75watts of power for the GPU which is plenty for low end cards like this which is why the card does not have any external power inputs for the power supply.

OP: have you used different ports. Have you installed the drivers? Have you got the cables in correctly [into the GPU not the motherboard]. I would use the on board graphics, download graphics drivers and try again.
